On a competitive mark on his best form for Nigel Twiston-Davies but soundly beaten last spring on final two runs for that yard and he was an early faller on his chase/stable debut in November; may be best watched.

Suited by the drop back to 2m when winning two in a row last spring (good to soft/soft); goes back up in trip on his reappearance but he could be dangerous to discount given the rude health he was in when last seen.

Returning from an absence when edging home in this 12 months ago off 2lb higher; his penultimate effort (here in first-time cheekpieces) was respectable and it's perhaps best to forget Sandown last time when his best form has been on left-handed tracks; respected.

Point and two-time hurdle winner who was an encouraging third on his chase and seasonal debut at Huntingdon (2m, good) in November and built on that to finish second at Fontwell (2m3f, soft); retains the same mark as last time and a first chase win may well be imminent.

Ran well on both visits here, winning over hurdles last March and second over fences in December; however, he's been out of form elsewhere on his last three outings, back hurdling on last two, and now has tongue tied first time; not proven over this far; 10lb claimer is recruited.

Form & Verdict
Returned from wind surgery with a comfortable win at Warwick (3m, good to soft) in December; tailed off at Newbury three weeks ago but failed to settle on the soft ground which proved costly; he's likely to be back on a better surface today and could bounce back with a bold show.

Three wins during last season's first campaign over fences (2m3f-3m, including on soft) and this front-runner has run well to be placed on his last two starts, most recently when just outstayed over Cheltenham's stiff, extended 3m1f; today's 3m around a flat track could prove ideal.

More than just the step up to 2m7f looked to be amiss at Huntingdon last month; however, prior to that this lightly raced point winner was a pretty encouraging second on his chase debut at Southwell (2m4f, good to soft), and could be a contender if tapping back into that promise.

Verdict

The 9yo GETAWAY DRUMLEE is lightly raced for his age and can get off the mark over fences having shown promise on his first two chase starts. Most of the others need to bounce back from below-par performances and perhaps New Order will be the main danger now back up in trip. Rath Gaul Hill won his last two starts last spring and could have a say if fully tuned up on his return, while Wild Side Of Life has potential if jumping with greater fluency than on his chase debut.[Ben Hutton]
