Out of a winning miler but he is related to jumps winners; sent off only 3-1 for a Punchestown bumper won by the highly-regarded Ballyburn and wasn't given a hard time in finishing seventh; respected.

Won maiden hurdle at Market Rasen (2m, good) in November and he's since been a respectable third in his first two handicaps (1m7f/2m, good to soft/soft); those were warm races and this front-runner can make a bold bid.

Verdict

Rainbow Trail failed to warrant a mention in his trainer’s recent Stable Tour interview but he fetched £220,000 after finishing second in his point and the winner has since won a maiden hurdle. However, APPLE’S OF BRESIL was the subject of some encouraging vibes ahead of his debut at Punchestown when he wasn’t given a rough time behind the highly-touted Ballyburn. The market should be informative as regards the newcomers.[Alistair Jones]
