2-3 for Roger Teal as a 2yo and off the mark for this year with a stylish success under Faleh Bughenaim at Goodwood (6f, heavy) last Wednesday; has a 6lb penalty to carry but still a major player with conditions again likely to be ideal.

This looks trappy with half the field previous C&D winners and several with something to recommend them. Orbital Chime and Cypriot Diaspora make the shortlist back off their last winning marks, while the consistent Harry’s Halo is another to consider after his good effort at Haydock on Saturday. The well-treated Beau Jardine is respected back over this trip, but despite his 6lb penalty SOLAR ACLAIM is given the vote having scored with some authority at Goodwood last week. He relishes testing conditions and may have even more to offer now back in winning form.[David Bellingham]
