2019 1000 Guineas confirmed runners – 15 confirmed in Sunday’s Classic as Dettori rides for Fairyland for Ballydoyle

Billesdon Brook scores a surprise victory in last year's 1000 Guineas.

The final field, draw and jockey bookings have been confirmed for Sunday’s Classic at Newmarket, with 15 fillies set to take their chance.

It’s always interesting to see which way Ryan Moore goes when the final field is confirmed and it was revealed this afternoon that Moore has chosen to partner Shadwell Rockfel winner, Just Wonderful.

With son, Donnacha already booked to ride Iridessa for his brother Joseph, Aidan O’Brien has called upon the services of Frankie Dettori, who will don the Ballydoyle silks before jumping aboard Fairyland.

Andrea Atzeni failed to get his ban overturned, meaning young David Egan retains his place in the saddle of Qabala, who leapt to the head of the 1000 Guineas betting after a superb triumph in the Nell Gwyn Stakes. The Newmarket patrons will get to enjoy a rare father-son battle on Sunday too, as David’s father, John Egan takes the ride on the outsider of the bunch, Garrel Glen for Mark Tompkins.

The newly-formed partnership of John Oxx and Patrick Predergast have thrown Moyglare Stud winner, Skitter Scatter into the mix and Unibet list the leading Irish contender as the 6/1 second-favorite behind Qabala. Lady Kaya will also make the trip over to Newmarket, alongside two other Ballydoyle runners, Hermosa and Fleeting.

Angel’s Hideaway will fly the flag for John Gosden, while last year’s winning trainer, Andrew Balding is represented by Look Around. Other notable entrants include Fred Darling winner Dandhu, Iconic Choice, Star Terms and Nell Gwyn runner-up, Mot Juste.
