2019 Kim Muir Chase tips - No Guesswork needed for Elliott's 9/1 chance in the day three finale at the Cheltenham Festival

Its All Guesswork can win the Kim Muir Challenge Cup Chase for Gordon Elliott.

Brian Healy looks through the potential field of entries for the Kim Muir Chase, the closing race on day three of the Cheltenham Festival and he gives his best bet in a competitive finale.

Closing out the third day of the Cheltenham Festival, the Fulke Walwyn Kim Muir Challenge Cup goes to post at 5.30pm, and the competitive contest is a handicap chase open to amateur riders.

The 3m2f contest gets underway from 5.30pm and the amateur riders’ handicap boasts a first prize in excess of £40000; a maximum field of 24 runners will face the starters’ tapes for this contest, and Brian Healy picks out his best bet for the day three curtain closer at the Cheltenham Festival.

ITS ALL GUESSWORK (9/1, Coral) carries the same colours as last year’s runner-up Mall Dini, but Gordon Elliott’s charge could go one place better than that one, and the Mahler gelding ought to go close here.

A very useful hurdler, winning at Bellewstown and making the frame in starts at Galway and Kilbeggan as well as here behind Brillare Momento, the Mahler gelding has taken well to the larger obstacles and he has shown good form over fences where he has only once finished outside the frame.

Third on his chase debut behind Minella Beau, he collected back-to-back silver medals at Kilbeggan and Listowel prior to winning at Navan in September where he ran out a six lengths’ victor over Rueben James; and he looked set to go close when falling at the last in the Munster National when still travelling well enough .

Given a break on the back of that mishap, he showed no ill effects to quickly bounce back with a good third over hurdles at Punchestown where he finished eight lengths’ third behind Cap York. He caught the eye with the way he travelled into the race, but late mistakes robbed him of valuable momentum and probably a winning chance although he finished to good effect.

Back over fences here, he could build on that outing to go close although the form of Gordon Elliott's runners in this year's Festival hasn't been as it was hoped with only the imperious Tiger Roll thus far amongst the winners for the Meath handler.
