2018 Cheltenham Festival odds - The current betting in the 2018 Supreme Novices' Hurdle

Jack Kennedy riding Labaik to victory in the 2017 Supreme Novices' Hurdle.

With the 2017 Cheltenham Festival drawing to a close, we take a look at how the betting market is shaping up in the 2018 Supreme Novices' Hurdle.

Nicky Henderson's promising youngster, Daphne Du Clos is currently the 14/1 favourite with bet365 to win the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle title at the 2018 Cheltenham Festival. The four-year-old, French-bred filly has only been beaten once in her three career starts, that defeat came in her first start since making the switch to Seven Barrows when she was narrowly beaten by the impressive Cap Soleil. She was forced to miss this year’s Champion Bumper with injury, but punters clearly fancy her chances of making a big impression at the Festival in 12 months’ time.

Fayonagh stormed home from the back of the pack to land a stunning victory in the Champion Bumper for the on-fire Gordon Elliott. A standing start looked to have ruined the six-year-old’s chances, but she worked her way steadily through the field and timed her late charge to perfection to claim a brilliant Cheltenham victory. Elliott’s mare also features prominently in the Supreme betting and is quoted by bet365 as a 16/1 shot to take the 2018 Supreme Novices’ title.

Fellow female, Debuchet had to settle for second behind Fayonagh in the Champion Bumper and she completes a trio of filly’s at the head of the 2018 Supreme betting, with bet365 also listing Margaret Mullins’ four-year-old at 16/1.

Despite Melon being beaten to the title by Labaik this year, Willie Mullins’ name is always near the head of affairs when it comes to the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle. Two of his young charges, Senewalk and Next Destination are hot on the leading trio’s coattails, sitting at prices of 16/1 and 20/1 respectively with SkyBet

The final name in the current betting for the 2018 Supreme Novices’ title is Claimantakinforgan, who ran on well to finish third in this year’s Champion Bumper and Nicky Henderson’s gelding can be found at a best price of 25/1 with SkyBet to win the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle next season.

*2018 Supreme Novices’ Hurdle Odds (Best Price)
14/1 Daphne Du Clos (bet365) 16/1 Fayonagh, Debuchet (bet365), Senewalk (SkyBet) 20/1 Next Destination (SkyBet) 25/1 Claimantakinforgan (SkyBet)
