Horse racing fixture list 10-16 April 2017 - Lingfield and Fairyhouse amongst this week's featured fixtures

All-weather Champions Day at Lingfield dominates this week's horse racing fixtures.

Now that the Aintree Grand National is in the rear-view mirror, the jumps season begins to wind down for the summer months, and the Flat turf racing season steps up a gear to fill the void.

This week’s fixture list sees little for punters to really get excited about, although there is Listed action on Wednesday at Nottingham for the Further Flight Stakes; while at Kempton on Saturday there is also Listed racing action with the Snowdrop Stakes.

Good Friday’s horse racing programme meanwhile takes in the All-weather Champions Day racecard at Lingfield; while on Easter Sunday there is Grade One action at Fairyhouse with the feature Ryanair Gold Cup Novice Chase on the card in Ireland.

Also on Saturday, evening racing gets underway with fixtures at Brighton and Stratford to kick off the twilight racing season.

MONDAY 10 APRIL


A new week of horse racing action gets underway on Monday with a four-fixture line-up which takes in jumps racing from Kelso, and also Tramore in Ireland; while on the flat, Windsor hosts the first of their customary Monday meetings along with Redcar who are also in action.

Windsor (flat) – 2.00 – 5.30pm (8 races)
Kelso (jumps) – 2.10 – 5.10pm (7 races)
Redcar (flat) – 2.20 – 5.55pm (8 races)
Tramore (jumps) – 4.45 – 7.45pm (7 races)


Monday racing returns to Windsor this week.

TUESDAY 11 APRIL


Tuesday’s horse racing meetings take in four fixtures across the UK and Ireland, and there is jumps racing from Exeter; while on the flat they go at Pontefract on turf, and Lingfield on the all-weather.

Completing the day’s programme is an evening racing card on the flat in Ireland with a meeting at Tipperary.

Pontefract (flat) – 2.10 – 5.40pm (8 races)
Exeter (jumps) – 2.20 – 5.50pm (8 races)
Tipperary (flat) – 4.45 – 7.45pm (7 races)

WEDNESDAY 12 APRIL


Wednesday’s fixture list sees five meetings going to post across the UK and Ireland, and there is jumps racing at Fontwell in the afternoon as well as meetings on the level on turf at both Nottingham and Catterick where the Listed Further Flight Stakes headlines the action at the former venue.

Elsewhere, there is evening all-weather action at both Kempton and Dundalk in Ireland.

Catterick (flat) – 2.00 – 5.30pm (8 races)
Fontwell (jumps) – 2.10 – 5.10pm (7 races)

Nottingham are racing on Wednesday, where there is Listed action on the racecard.

THURSDAY 13 APRIL


A relatively quiet Thursday in prospect with just three scheduled fixtures going to post on the day, and there is jumps racing from both Wetherby and Towcester while Chelmsford hosts the day’s sole all-weather meeting on their polytrack course.

Chelmsford (flat, aw) – 2.10 – 5.10pm (7 races)
Towcester (jumps) – 2.20 – 5.20pm (7 races)

FRIDAY 14 APRIL


Good Friday and the start of the Easter weekend programme of horse racing action takes in three fixtures across the UK with flat racing on turf at Bath; while on the all-weather there are meetings at Newcastle and Lingfield, where the All-Weather Champions Day racecard takes place.

Lingfield (flat, aw) – 1.40 – 4.40pm (7 races)
Newcastle (flat, aw) – 1.50 – 4.55pm (7 races)
Bath (flat) – 2.00 – 5.00pm (7 races)


Bath is one of three Good Friday meetings.

SATURDAY 15 APRIL


A busy Saturday schedule of horse racing takes in a bumper eight meetings across the UK and Ireland, and there is jumps racing from Carlisle, Newton Abbot, Haydock and Stratford; while on the flat there is racing from Musselburgh and Brighton on turf, and Kempton on the all-weather.

Completing the day’s line-up is a meeting on the level on turf in Ireland at Cork.

There is Grade One action on the Fairyhouse card, headlined by the Ryanair Gold Cup Novice Chase.
