The Cheltenham Festival is already a few days behind in the rear-view mirror, and thoughts now turn towards Aintree and the Grand National in a few weeks’ time.
There is plenty of high-class horse racing action to take place prior to the Liverpool spectacle though, and this week sees the start of the Irish flat racing season with the Irish Lincolnshire at Naas; while over the sticks there is some high-class action over the weekend at the likes of Newbury and Kelso.
Also taking place over the weekend is the Dubai World Cup meeting at Meydan, featuring the best flat racing performers from around the globe on what is the world’s richest race day.
MONDAY 20 MARCH
A low-key start to the week with just three horse racing meetings going to post, and there are jumps racing meetings from both Southwell and Taunton; while Kempton race on the all-weather with an eight-race card.

Tuesday’s fixture list of horse racing meetings sees four fixtures going to post with jumps racing action from the cards at Wetherby and Exeter, and well as Clonmel in Ireland.
Meanwhile, the day’s all-weather fixture comes from the card at Wetherby.
