Horse racing fixtures 10-16 September - Details of this week's UK and Irish horse racing meetings

Doncaster are racing over four days as the St Leger Festival takes centre-stage of this week's fixture list.

Brian Healy gives details of all this week's UK and Irish horse racing meetings, featuring the Doncaster St Leger Festival and Irish Champions Weekend.

Another cracking week of horse racing action awaits punters with the season’s final Classic, the St Leger spearheading the weeks’s fixture list at Doncaster on Saturday, as the four-day long St Leger Festival takes centre-stage.

Other highlights this week include the Kerry National at Listowel as their Harvest Festival continues until Saturday, while staying in Ireland there are two top-class days' racing at Leopardstown and the Curragh on Saturday and Sunday as Irish Champions Weekend goes to post.

MONDAY 10 SEPTEMBER


The week kicks off with a five-fixture line-up of UK and Irish horse racing meetings, and the day’s afternoon action comes on the flat at Brighton, and also Listowel in Ireland; while over the sticks there are fixtures at Perth and Newton Abbot.

There is also all-weather action in the evening with a fixture on the Chelmsford polytrack.

TUESDAY 11 SEPTEMBER


A further five UK and Irish horse racing fixtures go to post on Tuesday, where the day’s flat racing action comes from the cards at Catterick and Leicester, while there is a twilight fixture at Salisbury.

There is also jumps racing action on Tuesday with cards at Worcester, and also Listowel in Ireland.

WEDNESDAY 12 SEPTEMBER


Wednesday’s fixture list takes in a further five UK and Irish horse racing meetings, and there is action on the flat at Doncaster where the St Leger Festival gets underway, and also Carlisle in the afternoon; while Uttoxeter race over the sticks and Listowel in Ireland hosts a mixed flat and jumps racing card featuring the Kerry National.

Meanwhile, Kempton race on the all-weather in the evening on their polytrack course.

Five more meetings go to post on Thursday, and the St Leger Festival continues into a second day where the Group Two May Hill Stakes and Group Two Park Hill Stakes dominate the action on Town Moor.

There is also further flat racing action at Epsom and Ffos Las, while Listowel hosts a mixed flat and jumps race card.

Rounding off the day’s action is a twilight card at Hamilton on the flat.

FRIDAY 14 SEPTEMBER


Another five fixture line-up of UK and Irish horse racing meetings go to post on Friday, and the third day of the Doncaster St Leger Festival goes to post with further Group Two action on the card with the Flying Childers and Doncaster Cup both on the racecard.

Elsewhere, Chester and Sandown also race on the level in the afternoon, while Listowel’s Harvest Festival meeting continues with another mixed flat and jumps racing card.

Completing Friday’s fixture list is Salisbury’s meeting on the flat.

A busy Saturday sees eight UK and Irish horse racing meetings going to post, headlined by the season’s final Classic at Doncaster where the St Leger goes to post on a top-quality racecard on Town Moor which also features the Champagne Stakes.

There is further flat racing action elsewhere at Chester, Bath, Lingfield and Chelmsford on the all-weather, as well as Leopardstown in Ireland where the Group One Matron Stakes and Irish Champion Stakes are both on the racecard.

Listowel’s Harvest Festival meeting also draws to a close on Saturday with a jumps fixture; while Musselburgh close out Saturday’s action with a twilight racecard on the flat.
