This week's horse racing fixtures 22-28 April - Details of this week's UK and Irish horse racing meetings

Sandown are racing on the flat on Sunday with the Bet365 Mile the feature race of the day on a top-quality racecard.

Brian Healy looks ahead to this week's UK and Irish horse racing fixture list, where there is plenty of classy racing action over the jumps and on the flat.

Another classy week of horse racing action lies ahead for punters, and there is plenty more to look forward to over the course of the next seven days which kicks off on Monday with a bumper eight-fixture racecard for Easter Monday.

Elsewhere during the week, feature races include the Grade One Celebration Chase and the Bet365 Gold Cup on Sandown’s card on Saturday; while 24 hours earlier at the Esher track there is Pattern racing with the Group Twp Bet365 Mile on the flat the feature of Friday’s racecard.

MONDAY 22 APRIL


The Easter Monday Bank Holiday schedule of UK and Irish horse racing meetings takes in no less than eight meetings, including the Irish Grand National fixture at Fairyhouse where the Ratoath track hosts the second day of their spring feature meeting which also includes Grade Two action on the racecard.

Racing in Ireland also returns to Cork for a second day of racing, this time on the flat having raced over the sticks on Sunday.

Elsewhere, there is jumps racing action in the UK at Huntingdon, Fakenham, Plumpton and Chepstow; while on the flat they race at Redcar on turf, and Wolverhampton on the all-weather.

Six UK and Irish horse racing fixtures go to post on Tuesday, and Fairyhouse in Ireland hosts a third day of racing action over the sticks.

Elsewhere, Sedgefield and Ludlow host Tuesday’s jumps racing in the UK; while there are also fixtures on the flat at Yarmouth on turf, and Wolverhampton on the all-weather.

Six more UK and Irish horse racing fixtures go to post on Wednesday, and there action over the sticks at Fontwell, Southwell and Taunton, as well as from north of the border at Perth.

Meanwhile, on the level there is a first visit of the season to Epsom, while there is also all-weather racing on the Dundalk polytrack.

Thursday’s UK and Irish horse racing fixture list takes in a further six meetings, with afternoon jumps racing from the meetings at Perth, Warwick and Kempton; while on the flat there is action on turf from Beverley, and also from Tipperary in Ireland.

Completing Thursday’s fixture list is an evening fixture on the all-weather at Chelmsford.

Completing the fixture list on Friday is an evening meeting from Kilbeggan over the sticks in Ireland.

A bumper crop of eight UK and Irish horse racing fixtures goes to post on Saturday, and the day’s flat racing action takes place at Haydock, Leicester, Ripon and Doncaster as well as from Wolverhampton on the all-weather.

There is also jumps racing action from Sandown where the Bet365 Gold Cup and Grade One Celebration Chase are the pick of the races on the racecard at the Esher track.

Meanwhile, the Irish horse racing action comes from the cards at Limerick on the level, and Wexford over the sticks.

There is also racing at Sligo race over the sticks on Sunday.
