Horse racing fixtures 26 November - 2 December - Details of this week's UK and Irish horse racing meetings

Newbury features on this week's fixture list with the Ladbrokes Trophy Chase heading the action at the Berkshire track.

Brian Healy looks ahead to this week's UK and Irish fixture list where he details all of this week's meetings which features some classy horse racing action going to post.

The jumps season continues to gather apace, and while the Betfair Chase served up a cracking - and perhaps unexpected - result last weekend, thoughts turn to the week ahead where there is more to look forward to for jumps racing fans.

The Grade One Fighting Fifth Hurdle at Newcastle, and the Grade Three Ladbrokes Trophy Chase - formerly the Hennessy Gold Cup - both dominate on Saturday’s fixture list; while on Sunday there is a Grade One trio of races in Ireland at Fairyhouse with the Royal Bond Hurdle, Hatton’s Grace Hurdle and Drinmore Novices’ Chase spearheading a cracking fixture.

MONDAY 26 NOVEMBER


The week kicks off with a three-fixture schedule of horse racing meetings, and there is jumps racing action from Ludlow, Musselburgh and Kempton where there is Listed action on the card at the Sunbury venue.

Ludlow (jumps) - 12.30 - 3.50pm (7 races)
Musselburgh (jumps) - 12.45 - 3.30pm (6 races)
Kempton (jumps) - 12.55 - 3.40pm (6 races)

Ludlow are racing on Monday.


TUESDAY 27 NOVEMBER


Another low-key Tuesday on the horse racing front where just three meetings head to post, and there is jumps racing from Sedgefield and Lingfield, while Southwell race on their fibresand surface with an all-weather fixture.

Southwell (flat, aw) - 12.10 - 3.40pm (8 races)
Sedgefield (jumps) - 12.50 - 3.20pm (6 races)
Lingfield (jumps) - 1.00 - 3.30pm (6 races)

WEDNESDAY 28 NOVEMBER


There is a change of pace for Wednesday’s horse racing fixture list, and five UK and Irish race-meetings head to post with jumping from Wetherby and Hereford, as well as Punchestown in Ireland.

There is also afternoon all-weather action at Wolverhampton, while Newcastle’s fixture on their tapeta surface in the evening closes out the day’s proceedings.

Punchestown (jumps) - 12.25 - 3.35pm (7 races)
Hereford (jumps) - 12.35 - 3.40pm (7 races)
Wetherby (jumps) - 12.45 - 3.25pm (6 races)
Wolverhampton (flat, aw) - 1.45 - 5.00pm (7 races)
Newcastle (flat, aw) - 3.15 - 6.15pm (7 races)

Hereford are racing on Wednesday.


THURSDAY 29 NOVEMBER


Six meetings head to post for Thursday’s fixture list of horse racing action, and there is afternoon jumping from the cards at Warwick, Ayr and Taunton, as well as Thurles in Ireland.

On the all-weather meanwhile, there are evening fixtures at Kempton and Chelmsford under the floodlights.

Ayr (jumps) - 12.45 - 3.30pm (6 races)

FRIDAY 30 NOVEMBER


Friday takes in a six-fixture schedule of horse racing meetings with action over the sticks at Doncaster and Newbury, while on the flat in the afternoon there is all-weather action at Southwell.

There is also jumps racing action in Ireland at Limerick. 

In the evening meanwhile, Newcastle and Dundalk both race under the floodlights on their all-weather surfaces.

The Grade Two Berkshire Novices’ Chase and the Grade Two Long Distance Hurdle are the feature races on Newbury’s racecard, and the pick of Friday’s action will be televised live on ITV Racing.

SATURDAY 1 DECEMBER


Six UK and Irish horse racing meetings again go to post on Saturday, with afternoon jumps racing action from the cards at Newcastle, Doncaster, Newbury and Bangor; while in Ireland there is further jumping at Fairyhouse.

Meanwhile, on the all-weather there is a fixture on the tapeta at Wolverhampton under the floodlights.

There is top-class racing action across Saturday’s racecards with Newcastle staging the Grade One Fighting Fifth Hurdle; while at Newbury the latest renewal of the Ladbrokes Trophy Chase - formerly the Hennessy Gold Cup - spearheads the day’s action at the Berkshire venue where the card also includes the Gerry Feilden Hurdle and the John Francome Novices’ Chase.

The week ends as it began, with a three-fixture schedule of horse racing fixtures which takes meetings over the sticks at Carlisle and Leicester, as well as Fairyhouse in Ireland where there is Grade One action on the agenda with the Hatton’s Grace Hurdle, Royal Bond Hurdle and Drinmore Novices’ Chase as well as the competitive Porterstown Handicap Chase all featuring on a cracking racecard.
