Wetherby are racing on Friday and Saturday this week with the Charlie Hall Chase Meeting.

Get details of all this week's UK and Irish horse racing meetings as Brian Healy takes a look ahead to the week's racing action.

While much of the attention this week will fall on the Breeders’ Cup meeting across the pond at Churchill Downs, there is plenty to look forward to much closer to home, and this week’s fixture list includes the likes of the Sodexho Gold Cup at Ascot and the Charlie Hall Chase at Wetherby amongst its’ highlights.

Elsewhere, the Grade Two WKD Hurdle and Grade One JNWine.com Champion Chase both feature on Down Royal's weekend racecards; while there is plenty of Listed action throughout the week at Lingfield and Newmarket.

MONDAY 29 OCTOBER


The week kicks off with a six-fixture line-up of horse racing meetings which takes in flat racing action from Recar and Leicester, as well as Galway in Ireland; while over the sticks there is racing from Ayr, and also Wexford in Ireland.

Completing Monday’s fixture list is an all-weather meeting on the Chelmsford polytrack which takes place under the floodlights.

Wexford (jumps) - 12.20 - 4.20pm (8 races)

TUESDAY 30 OCTOBER


Horse racing in Ireland takes a day off on Tuesday leaving just four meetings to go to post across the UK, and there is flat racing action from Catterick, while jumps racing takes place on the cards at Chepstow and Bangor.

Completing Tuesday’s quartet is an all-weather fixture under the floodlights at Wolverhampton.

Chepstow (jumps) - 1.10 - 4.30pm (7 races)
Bangor (jumps) - 1.35 - 4.20pm (6 races)

WEDNESDAY 31 OCTOBER


The loss of Taunton’s jumps racing card leaves four UK and Irish horse racing meetings to go to post on Wednesday, and there is flat racing action from Nottingham, while jumps racing takes place at Fakenham.

There are two all-weather fixtures going to post on Wednesday, with afternoon action in Ireland at Dundalk; while in the evening there is a fixture under the floodlights at Kempton.

Fakenham (jumps) - 1.00 - 4.00pm (7 races)
Nottingham (flat) - 1.10 - 4.10pm (7 races)
Dundalk (flat, aw) - 2.45 - 6.00pm (7 races)
Kempton (flat, aw) - 4.40 - 7.45pm (7 races)

Nottingham are racing on Wednesday as four meetings go to post on the day.


THURSDAY 1 NOVEMBER


Thursday’s UK and Irish horse racing meetings take in six fixtures with Lingfield hosting an all-weather meeting on the level in the afternoon, where there is Listed action on the card; while there is jumps racing action from Stratford and Sedgefield as well as from Clonmel in Ireland also going to post in the afternoon.

In the evening meanwhile there are further all-weather fixtures going to post at Newcastle and Wolverhampton under the floodlights.

FRIDAY 2 NOVEMBER


Friday will play host to six UK and Irish horse racing fixtures, and there is afternoon action on the flat from Newmarket where Listed action features on the card at Flat HQ with the Bosra Sham Stakes.

There is also jumps racing action from Uttoxeter, and also Wetherby where the first of two days’ racing takes place for Charlie Hall Chase weekend at the Yorkshire track. Meanwhile, Down Royal in Ireland are also racing with the Grade Two WKD Hurdle taking centre-stage on their card

All-weather action goes to post in the evening with cards under the floodlights at Kempton, and also Dundalk in Ireland.

Racing returns to Newmarket this weekend with cards on Friday and Saturday.


SATURDAY 3 NOVEMBER


Six UK and Irish horse racing meetings go to post on Saturday, headlined by the Grade Two Charlie Hall Chase at Wetherby, and the card also features the West Yorkshire Hurdle on a cracking afternoon  at the Yorkshire venue.

There ais also jumps racing action from Ayr, and also Ascot where the Grade Three Sodexho Gold Cup goes to post; while Down Royal’s card in Ireland features the Grade One JNWine.com Champion Chase.

Saturday’s flat racing action meanwhile comes from Newmarket, where there is Listed action; while Newcastle complete the day’s fixture list with a meeting on the all-weather in the evening.

The week ends with a four-fixture schedule of horse racing action which takes in afternoon jumps racing from the cards at Carlisle and Huntingdon, while Cork in Ireland also go over the sticks on Sunday.

Completing the day’s fixture list is a meeting on the flat at Naas which features Listed company.
