Horse racing fixtures 7-13 January - Details of all this week's UK and Irish horse racing meetings

Kempton are racing on Saturday with the 32Red Chase and Lanzarote Hurdle both featuring.

Brian Healy looks ahead to this week's scheduled UK and Irish horse racing meetings and details every racecard over the next seven days.

This week’s UK and Irish horse racing fixture list plays host to more classy action around the country, and the pick of the week’s racing comes from Kempton where the Lanzarote Hurdle and 32Red Chase both spearhead a cracking Saturday afternoon racecard at the Sunbury track.

Elsewhere, the Grade Two Leamington Novices' Hurdle and the Grade Three Classic Handicap Chase are on the agenda at Warwick; while on Sunday the Grade Two Moscow Flyer Novices' Hurdle heads Punchestown's racecard in Ireland.

MONDAY 7 JANUARY


A low-key start to the week with just three UK horse racing meetings going to post, and the day’s jumps racing comes from the cards at Musselburgh and Chepstow, while Wolverhampton race on their tapeta all-weather surface.

Musselburgh (jumps) - 12.50 - 3.35pm (6 races)
Chepstow (jumps) - 1.05 - 3.50pm (6 races)
Wolverhampton (flat, aw) - 4.15 - 7.45pm (8 races)

Chepstow are racing on Monday.


TUESDAY 8 JANUARY


Three meetings again go to post on Tuesday with action over the sticks from Ayr and Bangor, while a twilight card on the Newcastle tapeta surface completes the day’s horse racing schedule.

Ayr (jumps) - 12.55 - 3.45pm (6 races)
Bangor (jumps) - 1.10 - 3.55pm (6 races)
Newcastle (flat, aw) - 3.40 - 7.15pm (8 races)

WEDNESDAY 9 JANUARY


Four UK meetings head to post throughout Wednesday’s fixture list, and the day’s jumps racing action comes from the cards at Doncaster and Taunton.

There is also all-weather action on the Lingfield polytrack, while Kempton are racing under the floodlights on Wednesday evening.

Lingfield (flat, aw) - 12.50 - 3.40pm (6 races)
Doncaster (jumps) - 1.00 - 3.50pm (6 races)
Taunton (jumps) - 1.10 - 4.00pm (6 races)
Kempton (flat, aw) - 4.15 - 7.45pm (8 races)

THURSDAY 10 JANUARY


As we head towards the weekend, the action steps up a gear on Thursday where a five-fixture schedule of horse racing meetings awaits punters, and the day’s afternoon racing action comes from the cards at Leicester and Catterick, where the North Yorkshire Grand National heads to post.

There is also jumps racing from Clonmel in Ireland, whilst on the all-weather there is a fixture on the fibresand at Southwell.

Completing Thursday’s fixture-list is an evening all-weather racecard from Chelmsford on polytrack.

Friday takes in five UK and Irish horse racing meetings, and the day’s jumps racing action goes to post at both Sedgefield and Huntingdon; whilst on the all-weather in the afternoon there is a meeting at Lingfield on polytrack.

Elsewhere, in the evening there is further all-weather racing action with cards on tapeta at Wolverhampton, and on polytrack at Dundalk in Ireland.

SATURDAY 12 JANUARY


Six UK and Irish horse racing meetings go to post on a busy day of action which sees jumps racing from the cards at Wetherby, Warwick and Kempton, as well as Fairyhouse in Ireland.

Some classy racing awaits punters across Saturday’s fixture list with the competitive Lanzarote Hurdle and 32Red Chase - formerly the Racing Post Chase - both on the card at Kempton; while at Warwick there is the latest renewal of the Grade Two Leamington Hurdle, as well as the Grade Three Classic Handicap Chase both on the card.

There is also all-weather action to look forward to, with cards at Lingfield in the afternoon on polytrack as well as Newcastle’s evening meeting on tapeta.

The week closes as it began with a three-fixture line-up of horse racing meetings which takes in racing over the sticks at Kelso, as well as Punchestown in Ireland where the Grade Two Moscow Flyer Novices’ Hurdle takes centre stage.

There is also an all-weather fixture going to post at Southwell on their fibresand surface.
