Horse racing fixtures 8-14 April - Find out where this week's UK and Irish horse racing is taking place

Ayr are racing on Friday and Saturday this week with the Scottish Grand National taking centre stage.

Brian Healy looks ahead to this week's UK and Irish horse racing meetings and details every fixture going to post over the next seven days.

After the thrills of the Grand National weekend, the flat racing season now takes centre stage and this week’s fixtures across the UK and Ireland feature include the Group Three Greenham Stakes which takes centre stage on Newbury's Saturday racecard.

There is also Group Three action in Ireland on Saturday with both the Alleged and Gladness Stakes on the card, while over the jumps the Scottish Grand National spearheads a cracking two-day meeting at Ayr,

MONDAY 8 APRIL


Three UK fixtures kick off a new week of horse racing action, with afternoon jumps racing from Kelso’s card; while on the level Windsor starts the first of its’ usual Monday meetings alongside a card at Redcar.

Redcar (flat) - 2.00 - 5.30pm (7 races)
Kelso (jumps) - 2.10 - 5.10pm (7 races)
Windsor (jumps) - 2.20 - 5.20pm (7 races)


TUESDAY 9 APRIL


Four UK and Irish horse racing meetings head to post on Tuesday with afternoon jumping from Exeter and Southwell; while over the sticks there is a fixture at Pontefract.

There is also jumps racing action in Ireland with a twilight fixture at Gowran Park.

Pontefract (flat) - 2.00 - 5.30pm (8 races)
Exeter (jumps) - 2.10 - 5.15pm (7 races)
Southwell (jumps) - 2.20 - 5.25pm (7 races)
Gowran Park (jumps) - 4.35 - 7.40pm (7 races)

WEDNESDAY 10 APRIL


A further four UK and Irish horse racing meetings will go to post on Wednesday, and there is jumping at Warwick in the afternoon alongside flat racing on turf at Warwick and also Lingfield on the all-weather.

There is also a meeting on the all-weather in the evening at Kempton under the floodlights.

Warwick (jumps) - 2.10 - 5.25pm (7 races)
Lingfield (flat, aw) - 2.20 - 5.35pm (7 races)
Kempton (flat, aw) - 5.45 - 8.15pm (6 races)

THURSDAY 11 APRIL


Five UK and Irish horse racing meetings go to post on Thursday with afternoon jumps racing at Huntingdon and Wetherby, as well as Limerick in Ireland.

There is also afternoon all-weather action on the Chelmsford polytrack; while in the evening there is another fixture at Newcastle under the floodlights.

Limerick (jumps) - 2.05 - 5.20pm (7 races)
Huntingdon (jumps) - 2.10 - 5.25pm (7 races)
Wetherby (jumps) - 2.20 - 5.40pm (7 races)

FRIDAY 12 APRIL


Five UK and Irish horse racing meetings go to post on Friday with afternoon action over the sticks at Ayr and Fontwell, while Newbury are racing on the flat.

Meanwhile, in the evening there is action in the evening over the sticks in Ireland at Ballinrobe, while Kempton are racing in the evening on the all-weather.

Newbury (jumps) - 2.00 - 5.20pm (7 races)
Fontwell (jumps) - 2.10 - 5.30pm (7 races)
Ballinrobe (jumps) - 4.50 - 8.00pm (7 races)

SATURDAY 13 APRIL 


Six UK and Irish horse racing meetings go to post on Saturday with afternoon action over the sticks at Ayr and Bangor, while on the flat there is action at Thirks and Newbury where the Group Three Greenham Stakes takes centre-stage.

Meanwhile, the Scottish Grand National is the pinnacle of the racecard at Ayr on Saturday where the two-day Festival draws to a close with some classy action.

There is also afternoon action on the flat in Ireland at Naas where Group Three action goes to post with both the Alleged Stakes and Gladness Stakes on the card.

Meanwhile, in the evening there is a fixture on the Wolverhampton all-weather with action on the tapeta.

SUNDAY 14 APRIL


Four UK and Irish horse racing meetings go to post on Sunday to round off the week, and there is afternoon jumps racing at Wincanton and Stratford, as well as at Tramore; while Dundalk are also racing with a fixture on the all-weather.

Dundalk (flat, aw) - 2.00 - 5.20pm (7 races)
Stratford (jumps) - 2.05 - 5.25pm (7 races)
