York hosts three days' top class horse racing action this week.

Brian Healy looks ahead to another cracking week of horse racing action and details every fixture over the next seven days across the UK and Ireland.

Chester’s May Festival meeting threw up some potentially significant Classic clues, and while that feature meeting is now in the rear-view mirror the York Dante fixture looms large up ahead and three top-class days’ racing action on the Knavesmire spearheads this week’s schedule of horse racing fixtures.

Kicking off on Wednesday with the Group Two Clipper Logistics Stakes, the feature Dante Stakes joins the Middleton Stakes in a Group Two double on Thursday; while the Yorkshire Cup completes a cracking three days' of racing. 

Meanwhile, the Group One Lockinge Stakes headlines the weekend's action at Newbury, while there is plenty of Listed and Group Three action also taking place over the weekend across the UK and Ireland.

MONDAY 13 MAY


Monday’s fixture list of horse racing action sees six meetings going to post, and there is afternoon action on the flat from Musselburgh on turf, and Wolverhampton on the all-weather; while jumps racing takes place on the card at Kempton.

In the evening, there is flat racing action from Windsor, while Killarney in Ireland race over the sticks. There is also a mixed flat/jumps racing card at Roscommon.

TUESDAY 14 MAY


The loss of Wincanton’s fixture still leaves seven UK and Irish horse racing meetings to go to post on a busy afternoon, and afternoon flat racing action takes place on the cards at Beverley and Chepstow; while over the sticks there is action at Sedgefield and also Tramore in Ireland.

There is also flat racing action going to post in Ireland at Killarney, and there is also jumps racing from the meetings at Ffos Las and Southwell.

WEDNESDAY 15 MAY


Six UK and Irish horse racing meetings go to post on Wednesday, where day one of the York Dante Festival meeting heads to post featuring the Group Two Duke Of York Clipper Logistics Stakes as the day’s main event on a card which also includes the Tattersalls Musidora Stakes.

Yarmouth also race on the level on Wednesday, while the is evening action on the flat from Bath.

Meanwhile, Wednesday’s jumps racing action is catered for by fixtures at Perth and also Punchestown in Ireland.

THURSDAY 16 MAY 


Six more UK and Irish horse racing meetings go to post throughout Thursday, headed by the second day of the York Dante Festival meeting where the eponymously-titled Group Two Dante Stakes takes centre stage on a racecard which also features the Group Two Middleton Stakes.

Meanwhile, Perth are also racing on Thursday afternoon with a fixture over the sticks.

Thursday’s evening racing action sees a return to Newmarket for a flat racing meeting; while over jumps there is racing action from Fontwell, and also Clonmel in Ireland.

FRIDAY 17 MAY


Seven UK and Irish horse racing meetings go to post on Friday, with the third day of York’s Dante Festival meeting again taking centre stage with the Group Two Yorkshire Cup being the highlight of the afternoon on the Knavesmire.

Meanwhile, Newmarket are also racing on Friday as are Newbury as the first of a two-day Lockinge Stakes meeting kicks off at the Berkshire track.

In the evening, there is further racing on the flat from Hamilton, while Leopardstown in Ireland are also racing on the level. Completing Friday’s fixture list are evening meetings over the sticks from Aintree, and also Kilbeggan in Ireland.

Seven UK and Irish horse racing meetings go to post throughout Saturday, and the day’s feature race on the flat is the Group One Lockinge Stakes which takes centre-stage on the card at Newbury.

Meanwhile, Newmarket’s Saturday racecard features Listed action, while there is also flat racing from Thirsk in the afternoon, as well as from Navan in Ireland.

Saturday afternoon jumps racing comes from Bangor, while in the evening there is further action over the sticks at Uttoxeter, and also on the flat at Doncaster.
