The Newmarket Rowley Mile course is the scene for Classic action this week with the Qipco 1000 Guineas and 2000 Guineas taking place.

Brian Healy looks ahead to an action-packed week of horse racing action across the UK and Ireland which features the Punchestown Festival and Classic action at Newmarket.

A fantastic week of horse racing action lies in store for punters, and the next seven days are packed full of top quality action both over the jumps and on the flat.

The Punchestown Festival takes centre stage over the sticks, and the Irish ‘Cheltenham’ will play host to an abundance of big names over the course of the week with past Cheltenham Festival and Aintree Festival participants descending on the Irish venue to contest for some valuable prizes prior to taking a well-earned break over the summer.

Meanwhile, on the Flat it is Classic weekend this week with both the 1000 Guineas and 2000 Guineas on the agenda at a star-studded Newmarket, with the Guineas Festival meeting getting underway from Saturday.
