Graceland was a very capable stayer on the level, but flat stayers often need further than two miles when they transition to jumping and she looks extremely short considering her lack of experience. Another Theatre ran a fine effort back in third the last day and has to be respected, but Foxtrot Juliet looks to be the one to catch.

Olly Murphy’s mare needed a run to get the hang of hurdling and her second outing was much more encouraging, running on well behind a subsequent winner. Foxtrot Juliet then upset odds-on favourite Rhythm Is A Dancer on firm ground at Wincanton and the runner-up has since boosted the form with two victories of his own.

Things didn’t go entirely to plan as Foxtrot Juliet made her handicap debut last month, falling three from home when challenging at the front. Dropping back into novice company and having a stone less weight on her back should give Foxtrot Juliet a boost and, so long as the ground doesn’t get any softer, I can see her getting beaten.
