The ITV Racing cameras return to action for the third day of the St Leger Festival at Doncaster, and Ed Chamberlain and the team will have a further four races live from Town Moor, headed by the Group Two Doncaster Cup Stakes.

1:50 - Japan Racing Association Sceptre Stakes (Group 3) (Fillies & Mares) Cl1 (3yo+) 7f ITV4
2:25 - Wainwrights Flying Childers Stakes (Group 2) Cl1 (2yo) 5f ITV4
3:00 - William Hill Mallard Handicap Cl2 (3yo+ 0-110) 1m6½f ITV4
3:35 - Doncaster Cup Stakes (Group 2) (British Champions Series) Cl1 (3yo+) 2m2f ITV4

The team will have more expert analysis, tips and insights into Friday’s action, and Brian Healy gives his race-by-race tips for the day’s televised action.

1:50 - Japan Racing Association Sceptre Stakes (Group 3) (Fillies & Mares) Cl1 (3yo+) 7f ITV4

ANNA NERIUM (5/1, Coral) has won twice this term, including the Group Three Supreme Stakes at Glorious Goodwood latest, and Richard Hannon’s charge can follow up here.

The Dubawi filly ran out a narrow winner over Dream OF Dreams in that contest, and she won a Listed contest back in April prior to tackling Group company behind the likes of Billesdon Brook and Alpha Centaury.

3-4 over this trip, she remains open to further progress and may still have more to offer with conditions to suit.

2:25 - Wainwrights Flying Childers Stakes (Group 2) Cl1 (2yo) 5f ITV4

RUMBLE INTHEJUNGLE (2/1, Coral) is 2-3, only losing out in the Norfolk Stakes, and the Bungle Inthejungle colt can strike again.

RIchard Spencer’s charge had the reopposing pair of Soldiers Call and Well Done Fox behind when winning last time in the Molecomb Stakes at Goodwood, scoring in the style of a potentially high-class sprinter when running out a near-three lengths’ winner over Life Of Riley.

That form looks strong with the the third, fifth and seventh all winning since, and open to further improvement he ought to prove hard to beat in this contest assuming he handles the softer conditions.

3:00 - William Hill Mallard Handicap Cl2 (3yo+ 0-110) 1m6½f ITV4

AUSTRIAN SCHOOL (10/1, Boylesport) has proven himself to be a highly consistent sort this term, scoring twice back in May and posting several solid efforts in defeat since where he has made the frame in four of his last five starts.

He has found only one too good on each occasion, beaten only a neck two starts ago at Musselburgh in the Archerfield Cup, and due to go up 2lbs in the weights in future races he turns out here in a race where he is well-treated.

He could find one too good again, but he return to a lesser trip could suit, and he can give another good account assuming this contest doesn’t come too soon.

3:35 - Doncaster Cup Stakes (Group 2) (British Champions Series) Cl1 (3yo+) 2m2f ITV4

Thomas Hobson and Sheikhzayedroad finished second and third in this race twelve months ago, and both can get involved in what looks a relatively weak contest. It might be worth chancing the stamina of the latter’s stablemate ALGOMETER (11/2, Ladbrokes) who has the form in the book to be competitive with the pair.

The Archipenko horse last tasted success in Listed company at Goodwood a couple of seasons ago, and he has largely acquitted himself well in Group company since without adding to his tally, including when posting a career-best effort behind the smart stayer Marmelo at Longchamp in July.

Although he couldn’t back up that effort next time at Newbury, when finishing fourth of six runners behind Hamada in the Geoffrey Freer Stakes, he hinted that it may be time to try a stiffer test.

An extra half-mile may perhaps seem an extreme measure, but there is every chance such a step up in trip might deliver a jolt of improvement, and he can go close.
