Port Lions sits prominently in the betting here, having ran a decent race in a handicap at the Curragh just over a week ago. Madeline Tylicki’s four-year-old is certainly consistent, but he’s hardly a serial winner – having claimed victory just twice in 15 career starts – and Port Lions is yet to score in five starts over Sunday’s trip.

There was little between Geological and Honour Oak when they clashed in a handicap at Leopardstown at the start of the season and both could give a good account of themselves. Yet, the weight-for-age allowance gives ALL THE KING’S MEN and excellent chance to record his first victory of the campaign, in what is his easiest assignment of the year thus far.

Aidan O’Brien’s colt won twice as a two-year-old, beating stablemate Never No More in a maiden before scoring in a Listed race over five-and-a-half furlongs, beating Recon Mission at Navan in October. On his reappearance, All The King’s Men was employed to make the pace for Sergei Prokofiev on the all-weather at Dundalk, before trailing with just one rival behind him in another Listed sprint contest at Naas.

O’Brien decided the time was right to push his No Nay Never colt up to seven furlongs and All The King’s Men took to this extended trip extremely well last time out, narrowly losing out to odds-on favourite, Basic Law after making nearly all of the running. Basic Law boosted the form of that Rated Race by beating Port Lions and 12 other rivals in a hot handicap during the Irish Derby Festival and ground conditions at Limerick should allow All The Kings Men to utilise his five-furlong pace. I’d be very surprised if the favourite got beaten on Sunday.
