Winter Escape has always had ability and has shown it on his last two starts for new trainer, Aidan Howard. Despite winning a Grade Three last time out, his jumping was a little suspect and the penalty he will carry for that victory may stop him landing a hat-trick.

I identified Jetz as one of my horses to track this season and I’ve been pleased with the way Jessica Harrington’s charge has progressed over fences. Gun Digger has to be respected too, but it was hard not to be very taken with A PLUS TARD’S victory at Gowran Park and Henry De Bromhead’s charge should take all the beating.

Punters piled into the Cheveley Park-owned novice on his chasing debut over course-and-distance, but he couldn’t quite reward his supporters, falling to a narrow defeat behind the enigmatic Dr Mikey. Duc Des Genievres was then backed into even-money favouritism against A Plus Tard, but it was Rachael Blackmore’s mount who looked then classiest horse in the race, pulling clear down the home straight to win by a couple of lengths.

A Plus Tard jumped out to his right a couple of times during that victory, so switching back to a right-handed track – at which he has solid course-and-distance experience – will be in his favour. Henry De Bromhead’s stable have been in excellent form this season, as has Rachael Blackmore and A Plus Tard will be gaining weight from all of his rivals.

Currently a 25/1 shot in the JLT betting at Cheltenham. That price could be much shorter come Sunday evening.
