Two from three on the flat last term, Kim Bailey threw his young charge straight into Grade Two company at Cheltenham on his debut and Two For Gold was far from disgraced in coming home less than five lengths behind Elixir De Nutz. David Bass’ mount was then the 4/6f to claim a maiden victory at Wetherby and the result was never in doubt, with the favourite breezing to the front after the second and stretching clear in comfortable fashion.

Two For Gold’s sire, Gold Well is known for producing strong stayers and the way he travelled during his win at Wetherby suggests three miles will be his game. There are few trainers in better form than Kim Bailey at the moment and a strong performance here could see Two For Gold enter Albert Bartlett reckoning – a race for which he currently holds odds of 25/1.
