Thursday's racing tips - 6/1 NAP of the day on day three of the Cheltenham Festival

Posh Trish is Jon Vine's NAP of the day at the Cheltenham Festival on Thursday.

Jon Vine looks over Thursday's horse racing action and picks out his best bet of the day in the Mares' Novices' Hurdle on day three at the Cheltenham Festival.

Epatante has secured both of her victories below Class One level, meaning she will be gaining five pounds on many of her rivals. That allowance, however, has not stopped the previous three champions from claiming the victory and I’d prefer to back a rival who has tested themselves in a higher class.

Willie Mullins record with mares here at Cheltenham means any of his contenders shouldn’t be discounted, with Sancta Simona making a strong each-way case. That being said, I picked out POSH TRISH (6/1, William Hill) as one of my horses to follow at the start of the season and I think she can keep the Paul Nicholls’ bandwagon rolling at Cheltenham.

Paul Nicholls trains Posh Trish.

Posh Trish has been one of my most successful tracker horses this term, winning four of her five starts, collecting two Listed prizes along the way. Nicholls’ mare beat Lust For Glory comfortably at Newbury and was pushed for a long way at Taunton by Indefatigable - who has come out and placed second to Lady Buttons in another mares contest since - before eventually sealing another victory.

Nicholls’ stable could hardly have been in better form. Posh Trish goes on any ground and proved she could thrive at Cheltenham when winning well at the start of her bumper campaign. She looks to be a very solid option.
