Trelinney was bumped up four pounds for his maiden victory at Chepstow last month, a punishment which doesn’t look too harsh considering how easily she claimed victory that day. Marcus Tregoning will be hoping for more of the same as his filly lines up at Bath. However, course form around this tricky track often proves vital and I don’t fancy siding again PERFECT GRACE after she was dealt a favourable stall in the draw.

Archie Watson’s filly made her debut over ten furlongs here at Bath and almost made a winning start over this trip, only to be nabbed on the line by a well-backed favourite. Perfect Grace was then placed in stall one as she returned to the Somerset venue and Hollie Doyle’s mount put the field to the sword, striding clear at the front of the field to secure a comfortable three-length success.

Perfect Grace was then backed into favouritism on her most recent run at Leicester, but a sluggish start put Doyle’s mount on the backfoot from the get-go. Watson’s filly had to work hard in the early stages to find her favoured prominent position and those efforts came back to haunt her in the final two furlongs, as the favourite faded back to fourth. Despite looking a little leggy late on, Perfect Grace carried on running right through the line, passing the post just a couple of lengths behind the winners.

Few jockeys have been in the winners more than Hollie Doyle of late and she boasts a 30% strike rate when teaming up with Archie Watson this season. Once again, Doyle’s mount has been drawn in stall one and, if they can break more swiftly than they managed at Leicester, Watson’s front-runner could be too tough to peg back.
