2:00pm Chepstow Prichards Supporting Velindre Handicap Chase (Class 4) 2m7½f

Our Reward returns to chasing after an emphatic 30-length victory in a handicap hurdle last month. Jamie Snowden’s charge was impressive from the front that day, but the result was flattered by the fact the two market principals underperformed so badly and he’s yet to get within five lengths of the winners in any of his starts over fences.

All Kings could come on from his reappearance and Clondaw Rigger has to be respected, but the one they will all have to catch is WHIN PARK.

The six-year-old son of Great Pretender linked up with Ben Pauling after back-to-back wins in point-to-points. Pauling threw his new recruit straight into handicap chase company on his stable debut, where he ran a respectable race from the front before fading to finish third on the run to the line.

Whin Park made his return to action at Ludlow two weeks ago, where he was backed into favouritism before the off. Despite a couple jumping errors, Richard Johnson’s mount stayed strong at the front of the field to repel some decent rivals and secure a maiden victory under rules.

Pauling’s charge was giving weight to the field when winning that day and he could be suited perfectly by the switch to a left-handed track. Both Johnson and Pauling are in solid form at the moment and the handicapper has given Whin Park a great chance of getting another win by only upping his rating by five pounds.
