Angel Alexander, drawn on his immediate outside in stall two, should ensure the pace is a quick one from a favourable position. She Can Boogie and Society Queen remain dangers, but I’ve been really impressed with the way LEODIS DREAM has continued to improve as he’s been stepped up in trip and David O’Meara’s gelding offers excellent value at 5/1.

Since finishing second on his stable debut, Leodis Dream has strung together four straight victories. The first two came in competitive novice contests, around sharp, left-handed tracks very similar to Chester. On his reappearance, O’Meara’s four-year-old pounced late on to win a valuable handicap at Thirsk, before repeating that feat in the bet365 Handicap at Sandown on Classic Trial day.

Despite carrying a career-high mark in extremely competitive handicaps, LeoDis Dream hit the front at the perfect moment and managed to hold off a wave of capable challengers. Paul Hanagan takes the ride once again and his recent strike rate is impressive. Being placed in stall six should allow Leodis Dream to position himself behind the pacesetters, given a swift start and he’s proven himself very difficult to pass once he hits the front.
