Holbrook Park and Enjoy Responsibly clashed at Fakenham in December, with both finishing 13 lengths behind Militarian. Of the two, Enjoy Responsibly looks the biggest danger here, having finished strongly that day and should enjoy the switch back to a right-handed track. Yet, he could have his work cut out trying to deny TERRY THE FISH a maiden victory over fences.

Jonjo O’Neill’s charge was a three-time winner over hurdles, but didn’t look entirely comfortable over the biggest obstacles at Chepstow in October, finishing some 75 lengths behind two high-quality novices. Terry The Fish again jumped markedly to his right on his second start over fences at Doncaster and was pulled up after just the tenth fence.

O’Neill senior enlisted the services of Jonjo jnr last time out at Market Rasen, where he dropped Terry The Fish down in trip and switched to a right-handed track. That Class Three turned into a two-horse race between O’Neill’s charge and Value At Risk, with the latter coming out on top in a fierce battle to the line.

Terry The Fish went off at level weights with Value At Risk – who carried a price of 13/2 into the Old Roan on his reappearance – and the winner, rated five-pounds superior, all the way to the line. O’Neill’s chaser clocked an RPR of 139 that day, a mark none of his rivals have reached this season and the handicapper has given an excellent chance to build on that showing by refusing to up his rating. He’s certainly the one to beat.
