The Wesley Ward trained HOOTENANNY (18/5, BetBright) may have unconventional form figures as a young horse with three of his four career starts coming in different countries but he holds outstanding claims in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf on Friday. His appearance at Royal Ascot was one of the highlights of this year's meeting when he rocketed from the gates and stayed on strongly inside the final furlong to win in great style and land some big bets in the process under Victor Espinoza.

Some critics may question the form of that Windsor Castle success but he made no secret of his top flight credentials with a bold showing behind the high class The Wow Signal in the Prix Morny in August. Although there may be a stamina doubt given his blistering speed over 5f, the Coolmore owned colt kept on well in testing conditions over 6f in France to suggest the mile trip should not be a problem and the positive reports coming from his connections have been very encouraging.

The Deauville form was boosted when the third horse Ervedya went on to finish second behind Found in the Group 1 Prix Marcel Boussace on Arc day and Hootenanny is well drawn in stall five to run a big race with the assistance of Frankie Dettori an added bonus.

The Aidan O'Brien trained War Envoy could well figure at the business end with the fast ground conditions expected to suit while Commemorative is an improving sort who has won his last two starts and is not without a chance for Charlie Hills and James Doyle.

Another horse to excel at the Royal meeting was the Queen Anne winner TORONADO (2/1, Paddy Power) who will line up one of the shortest priced European horses of the weekend in the Breeders' Cup Mile on Saturday. The Richard Hannon trained 4yo has been lightly campaigned at the highest level with only three outings this season but that can be regarded as a big positive at this stage of the year when many horses are over the top and past their best.

The Richard Hughes partnered colt is a class act who has competed at Group 1 level in his last seven outings and he lost nothing in defeat behind Kingman and Charm Spirit on his most recentstarts. With luck in running from a favourable draw, he is difficult to oppose.

The Dermot Weld trained Mustajeeb has strong claims given his connections and Jersey Stakes victory but he may be found wanting at this level. Trainer Freddie Head has won this race three times in the past with the brilliant Goldikova and her brother Anodin is a potential improver on fast ground who could make a bold bid to complete a memorable family double under Oliver Peslier.

The European challenge for the Breeders' Cup Turf is one of the strongest of the meeting with Flintshire and TELESCOPE (5/2, Paddy Power) heading the market for the 1m4f contest which Ryan Moore won last year on Magician. The Cox Plate winning jockey has won races at Santa Anita in the past two renewals of this meeting and his presence on Telescope is a huge plus for the Michael Stoute trained 4yo who has had Moore's assistance in his last eight outings.

A hugely impressive winner of the Group 2 Hardwicke Stakes at Royal Ascot, Telescope has rock solid form to his name behind Taghrooda in the King George and a third place effort to Australia and The Grey Gatsby in the Juddmonte International at York. The Galileo colt has been laid out for this big race target since his last outing in August and he ticks most of the boxes required for such an assignment making him a confident selection to continue the great record of European horses in recent years.
