Bet £10 on the 13:30 Cheltenham Get £60 In Free Bets

The Cheltenham Festival is considered the pinnacle of the National Hunt calendar by pundits, trainers and jockeys, and it is also a rare time of year when even the most casual of racing fans has their eyes fixated on the sport for four straight days.

The action gets off to a bang on Monday, 15th March with the curtain-raising Supreme Novices’ Hurdle. This extended 2m contest features some of the most exciting novice hurdlers in training and the spine-tingling Cheltenham Roar greets runners on flag fall.

In anticipation of what promises to be an enthralling renewal of the Festival opener, top bookmakers Betfair have produced a new customer offer that centres around the opening race on Day 1.

For just a £10 initial outlay on the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle (13:30) at Cheltenham on Tuesday, Betfair will provide punters with £60 in Free Bets – which come in the form of a £10 Free Bet for each of the remaining races on the Day 1 card.

The Supreme Novices’ Hurdle (13:30) not only opens the Cheltenham Festival but is considered by many to be one of the best races of the entire week.

This year’s renewal looks, if anything, to be well above average, with a plethora of exciting novices’ making the lineup in what promises to be a race to go down in Festival folklore.

The betting is currently headed by Constitution Hill, who has made the track just twice so far – both runs coming at Sandown – building on a facile novice success when landing the Grade 1 Tolworth Hurdle last time out. That admittedly wasn’t the strongest renewal of that event, but it was tough not to be impressed by the way in which Constitution Hill dismissed his rivals, and this race was the obvious port of call on the back of that.

Willie Mullins holds the record as the winning most trainer in Supreme Novices’ Hurdle history, landing seven renewals of the contest since 1995, most recently just last year with Appreciate It. He has three of the nine entrants for the 2022 renewal, with the market at least favouring his Dysart Dynamo, who comes into this with an unblemished 4-4 record under rules. Dysart Dynamo took the step up in grade in his stride when running out a facile 19l winner of the Grade 2 Moscow Flyer Novice Hurdle at Punchestown last time, and Mullins has completed the Moscow Flyer – Supreme Novices’ Hurdle double with the likes of Vautour and Douvan in recent seasons.

The aforementioned Douvan has further links to the 2o22 race with his full brother Jonbon making the line-up. This £570,000 purchase has long held a lofty reputation and has done little to dispel that up to now, winning all four starts under rules the most recent success coming in Grade 2 company at Haydock.
