Tenth foal; brother to 1m winner Dandy Maestro (RPR 88) and half-brother to five further Flat winners including Illustrating (Group-placed 5f 2yo; 99); dam a top-class 7f-1m winner; with the stable housing a number of high-class 2yos, any confidence behind him would be significant.

More is needed than when fifth of nine on handicap debut at Chester (7f) in September last time out, but it was still a fair run and that tight track may not have been ideal; won a 6f novice at Salisbury the time before and he retains potential for his good yard; AW debut.

Both runs at Windsor (6f); got lit up heading to the start last time and was free in the race, so from a wide draw he deserves great credit for going so close; lines of form through the winner suggest he doesn't have a lot to find with the likes of Celtic Champion and Mischief Magic; respected.

Form & Verdict
45,000gns yearling related to several winners; raced prominently before weakening into sixth at Salisbury, ultimately beaten 5l by Marbaan who runs in the Group 2 earlier; was a weak 25-1 chance that day when partnered by a 7lb claimer and now Tom Marquand takes over; better expected.

Shown promise in three turf starts including when fifth of 17 in the Convivial Maiden at York (7f, good to firm) last month; that is traditionally a warm race, but the form of this year's renewal is yet to be franked; makes handicap/AW debut.

Verdict

Atomic Impact is an interesting newcomer but he'll need to be pretty smart to beat some experienced rivals who have already hinted that they might be above average. Mischief Magic, Celtic Champion and Supreme King are greatly feared in that order of preference but a chance is taken on CHARTWELL HOUSE, who all things considered ran a mighty race to even threaten a good horse at Windsor two weeks ago.[Alistair Jones]
