Best bets for Monday and tips over the sticks and all-weather

We kick off a new week of UK horse racing action with another round of meetings across the country where there is jumps and all-weather racing for punters to take in. Our tipping team has picked out their best bets for Monday and tips for every fixture.

As we enter a new week of horse racing action following a fantastic weekend of fixtures at home and abroad there are four meetings going to post on Monday for punters to ponder over in pursuit of winners where the action unfolds both on the flat on the all-weather and also over the sticks with two meetings apiece throughout the day.

The day’s afternoon racing sees jumps racing at Carlisle and Kempton, while Wolverhampton race on their tapeta surface in the afternoon. Completing the day’s line-up is an evening card under the floodlights at Newcastle and 30 races in all go to post as our tipping team assess the day’s action to pick out their best bets for Monday and tips for each meeting.

BEST BETS FOR MONDAY – TIPS OVER THE STICKS & ALL-WEATHER

2:10 Carlisle – Durdar Graduation Chase (GBB Race) Cl2 (4yo+) 2m

MINELLA DRAMA can notch up another win for the in-form Donald McCain team anad the Flemensfirth gelding arrives on the back of a win ten days ago at Uttoxeter where he made all to run out a comfortable winner despite showing a tendency to jump right.

A smart hurdler who won three of his six starts last term over the smaller obstacles and posted an excellent second to the high-class My Drogo in a Grade One at Aintree he was a comfortable winner of his chase debut, beating Magic Dancer by eight lengths and there’s certainly more to come from him in this sphere with that experience under his belt.

Going right-handed now shouldn’t be any problem and indeed he won at Market Rasen last term so with further improvement anticipated he can follow up that last time win.

2:50 Wolverhampton – Betway Handicap Cl3 (3yo+ 0-90) 1m1½f

TRICOLORE won last time out to take his tally for the season to two from six runs and Marco Botti’s charge looks worth chancing to notch up another victory.

The Twilight Son gelding overcame a slow start on his most recent outing over this course and distance to beat Pretty Sweet by just over one length under Hollie Doyle who is in the saddle again here and the pair are unbeaten when teaming up.

That form looks fairly solid with both the runner-up and third both making the frame next time out and a 5lbs rise in the weights for his victory may not be enough to anchor him given he remains open to further progress and having won a shade readily last time out.

Best bets for Monday. Jockey Hollie Doyle can ride a winner on the Wolverhampton card.

3:10 Carlisle – Watch Irish Racing On Racing TV Handicap Chase (Go North Monet’s Garden Series Qualifier) Cl4 (4yo+ 0-120) 2m4f

FRENCHY DU LARGE hasn’t been seen since winning at Ludlow back in February, posting his best effort to date over hurdles and now tackling the larger obstacles Venetia Williams’ charge can double up his tally.

The Al Namix gelding had shown a decent level of ability in bumpers before racing five times last term over timber where he only once finished out of the frame before appearing to relish the stiffer test last time out.

Stepped up in trip he beat Bells Of Peterboro comfortably by two lengths and he looks the sort to make up into a decent chaser this term so improvement could be on the cards now tackling fences.

Softer ground would be a positive and with the possibility of rain conditions may come right for him and he looks to hold solid claims here.

3:30 Kempton – Weatherbys nhstallions.co.uk Mares’ Handicap Chase (Challenger Mares’ Chase Series Qualifier) Cl3 (4yo+ 0-125) 2m4½f

HAWTHORN COTTAGE could have a bigger performance to come over the larger obstacles and the former winning pointer made no mistake when getting off the mark as a chaser when going in at Warwick back in May.

Amy Murphy’s charge might just have needed the run when back from five months off at Worcester last month, finishing third to Saint Palais and with that effort under her belt the Gold Well mare could resume winning ways here with the better ground in her favour.

She’s been dropped 1lb in the weights following that last run and with the potential for better to come over fences she can make her presence felt.

Best bets for Monday. Trainer Lucinda Russell can have a winner on the all-weather at Newcastle.

4:20 Newcastle – MansionBet Proud Partners Of AWC Handicap Cl5 (3yo+ 0-70) 1m

ENGLES ROCK had been consistent on turf throughout the summer but ended his losing run when switched to this surface last month, readily seeing off reopposing Traveller by one length and Lucinda Russell’s charge could be worth chancing to uphold that form and add another win to his tally.

The Excelebration mare travelled well throughout that contest and took up the running close home to post a cosy success and a 3lbs rise could prove lenient given she’s still unexposed on this surface and may have improvement to offer.

That runner-up has done little harm to the form with successive finishes in the frame and the selection is well-handicapped on her old turf form including when winning off 73 at Listowel when trained in Ireland.

With the potential for better to come on this surface she could be worth an interest to follow up her latest win.
