Friday sees a quartet of UK horse racing fixtures going to post and we look over the day’s action to give our best Friday horse racing tips for each racecard taking place.

The horse racing action continues unabated on Friday with four meetings taking place across the UK which sees afternoon action on the flat from the Newmarket July Course as well as from Beverley.

Meanwhile, the evening action sees further flat racing from Ripon, while Newton Abbot race over the sticks. In all, 34 races head to post across the UK throughout the day and we give our best Friday horse racing tips for each meeting.

2:25 Beverley – Sky Bet Most Extra Place Races Handicap Cl4 (3yo+ 0-85) 1m½f

LE CHIFFRE looks a rapid improver and the Zoffany gelding arrives here on a hat-trick of wins having struck impressively under a penalty three weeks ago at Hamilton with a defeat of Reclaim Victory.

David O’Meara’s charge had won here the time before over a furlong shorter on his reappearance and handicap debut, beating Falconidae by three lengths and his latest success suggested he still have more to come so he looks worth sticking with here to land his three-timer despite being raised another 7lbs in the handicap.

Given the manner of his success latest, he could still prove ahead of the assessor despite his ratings hike and this is a step up in class into a Class 4 contest; but he can continue to improve and ought to make his presence felt again back at this venue and no surprise if he goes close once more.

3:20 Newmarket – Bedford Lodge Hotel Community Support Handicap Cl5 (3yo 0-70) 1m2f

BILLHILLY made a winning return following lockdown when successful at Lingfield, beating Isayalittleprayer by a neck; Eve Johnson Houghton’s charge then travelled like the winner before his effort faltered when tried on turf at Newmarket on his latest start.

The Sea The Stars colt finished three lengths’ third of four runners behind Bondi Sands, fading in the last furlong; but he’s since had a wind operation and a drop to this shorter trip might prove more suitable.

The handicapper has left him alone and still unexposed could find a jolt of improvement following his wind op to get back on the scoresheet in this slightly easier grade.

5:35 Newton Abbot – Get Your Heart Racing Handicap Hurdle (Div II) Cl5 (3yo+ 0-100) 2m1f

It could be worth chancing on NACHI FALLS returning to form back over hurdles and Nigel Hawke’s charge could go well if at his best.

The New Approach gelding arrives fit from a spell on the flat where he admittedly didn’t pull up any trees; that statement can apply equally to his last few starts over obstacles also with his last success coming at Worcester back in August 2017.

However, he has won over hurdles from as high as 119 in the ratings but turns out here rated just 91; while he has a good amateur on board who is able to claim a further 7lbs. A first-time visor now applied could also have a positive effect and in a relatively poor race it wouldn’t come as a surprise to see him post a big run from this much-reduced handicap rating.

6:25 Ripon – Armstrong Memorial Handicap Cl3 (3yo+ 0-95) 6f

MUSCIKA probably found the soft ground against him at Ayr on his penultimate start earlier this month; but the Kyllachy gelding hit the crossbar in runs either side of that outing and he was beaten less than one length into the silver medal berth in a competitive York handicap six days ago.

David O’Meara’s charge was beaten less than one length behind Tukhoom in that last start, keeping on well without quite matching the winner and there was daylight back to the third and rest so he may be able to take advantage of this unchanged mark before going up 3lbs in future.

The application of blinkers for the first time may eke out some further improvement and he’s twice made the frame at this venue from higher ratings than current, including in last season’s Great St Wilfred Handicap.

His last career win at Thirsk last May also came from 3lbs higher than this rating so at the weights he has plenty going for him and this looks a decent opportunity for him to get back on the scoresheet.
