Cross Country Chase Tips

Daryl Carter (@DarylCarter7) gives the latest of his Cheltenham day 2 tips here as he runs the rule over the Cross Country Chase

This race revolves around dual Grand National winner Tiger Roll who will warm up for his record-breaking attempt to win the National for the third time in a row.

Cross Country Chase Tips – Can Champ Do It Again?

TIGER ROLL quite rightly heads the market as he looks for a third Cross-Country victory at Cheltenham this year.

He returned to the track later than previous years after suffering a slight injury setback to run a respectable fifth at Navan (a race that he won at 25/1 last season). He was not given a hard time there but was ultimately well beaten (14l) by horses he had previously taken care of with ease.

Granted, this is not the same discipline, but it may give an indication to how forward he will be for this test and with a third Grand National lurking in the background, the gut feeling is that this race may not be the be-all and end-all of his season. Something to ponder at this year’s Cheltenham Festival

French Raider Rates Huge Danger

EASYSLAND is a worthy opponent to the favourite and is unbeaten in his last six starts, including here at Cheltenham after coming over from France for the International meeting.

Purchased by JP Mcmanus on the back of an impressive victory, the youngster could have plenty more to offer but he’ll need to brush up on his jumping if he has to cause an upset and overthrow the banker of most people’s Cheltenham Festival Tips.

Gold Cup Second Tries New Discipline

Connections of MIGHT BITE have already expressed that he was not able to jump one of the makeshift obstacles at Seven Barrows on a recent press day and this looks a desperate attempt to revitalise a horse who is clearly falling out of love with the game and rates one to avoid with your Cheltenham Free Bets.

French Veteran Has Work Cut Out

URGENT DE GREGAINE is an admirable 12-year-old who has 23 engths to find with the favourite on last year’s running, and although a reliable yardstick he lacks the necessary improvement needed to win this contest.

Cross Country Chase Tips – Big-race Verdict

Tiger Roll is very difficult to look past but the niggling doubt about whether, if push comes to shove, connections have the Grand National as a first thought must be taken into consideration and on that basis I will side with the six-year-old Easysland.
