Salford To Beat Huddersfield (Super League Play-Offs) 1pm Saturday – 10/11

The Super League play-offs begin this weekend with the regular season done and dusted. The first round of the play-offs is the eliminator round meaning its do or die here, win or your done!

This game is on a knife edge with Huddersfield and SALFORD boasting similar records in the season. However, Salford come into this flying at present and are a narrow pick to win away from home. Their attack on its day is the best in Super League, with Man Of Steel candidate Brody Croft in scintillating form calling all the shots.

This Red Devils outfit is now a fully cohesive unit coming into the business end and confidence is flowing. They also pumped the Giants last month 33-18 and can get the better of them again to take them into firing range of another Grand Final having made it in 2019.

New London To Win (St Leger Stakes) 3.30pm Saturday – 1/1

NEW LONDON stayed on strongly to take the Group 3 Gordon Stakes, and with it went right to the top of bookmakers lists for the final Classic race of the season. That form has been franked since multiple times:

  • Deauville Legend (2nd) was an impressive winner of the Great Voltigeur Stakes (Group 2) at York last month.
  • Hoo Ya Mal (3rd) comfortably won the March Stakes (Group 3) at Goodwood last month.
  • Cresta (5th) bolted up in Listed company last month at Windsor.
  • West Wind Blows (6th) won a Group 3 at Longchamp last weekend.

New London is a horse on a huge upward curve and comes here in impressive winning form. The extra distance should be right up his street judging by his last run and the lack of really strong opposition should mean that Charlie Appleby and William Buick successfully defend the St Leger, following Hurricane Lane’s win in the race last season. He should take all the beating and at odds of ……. he rates a solid bet this weekend.

Gundogan To Score + Man City To Win (Man City vs Tottenham) 5.30pm Saturday – 4/1

Man City are doing exactly what a lot of people expected them to do this season and are tearing teams apart with ease. However, they come up against one of their bogey teams from last season in Tottenham, who beat them home and away last year. But this is a different City side and with Erling Haaland in red-hot form, they can end Antonio Conte’s side unbeaten record.

Haaland may be getting all the plaudits (and rightfully so), but there are other players who deserve plenty of recognition, none more so than Ilkay Gundogan. The Man City captain has been fantastic in the middle of the park, and with two goals already this season, we’re backing GUNDOGAN TO SCORE + MAN CITY TO WIN. The German has scored three goals in his last three Premier League games against Spurs, with all three coming at the Etihad.

Yes we’d probably rather have Haaland but he’s odds on to score in a City win, and we’d much rather back the German to net and them to win at 4/1, which we think is fantastic odds.

Max Verstappen To Win (Italian Grand Prix) 2pm Sunday – 4/11

MAX VERSTAPPEN is rewriting the record books almost as quickly as his Red Bull travels in a straight line this season. The world champion looks simply unstoppable after stringing together four victories in a row to take his tally of race wins to 10 for 2022. The record number of race wins by one driver in a single season is 13 — jointly held by German pair Michael Schumacher (2004) and Sebastian Vettel (2013) — and Verstappen looks well on course to eclipse that marker.

Sunday’s race in Monza is the first of seven remaining Grands Prix, with Verstappen again installed as the favourite at a circuit which should play to the strengths of the RB18 (but let’s face it, they don’t need the help). Ferrari have shown they can be competitive, winning nine of 15 poles so far this season, but a combination of bad luck, driver error, botched strategy and technical issues have shattered their campaign. At the very least, scrapped plans for another sprint race at Monza this year should help Ferrari be more competitive across the weekend. Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz will be particularly keen to draw a line under recent failures as Ferrari mark their 75-year anniversary with a special livery at their home race.

Unfathomably, Ferrari’s prime focus is surely now on beating Mercedes to second in the Constructor Standings. The Silver Arrows looked a different animal in Zandvoort and Lewis Hamilton has shown he has form in Monza for overcoming a pace deficit to beat his rivals to the chequered flag. Perhaps outpacing Verstappen (and Sergio Perez for that matter) remains a bridge too far for Mercedes, but the stage is set for an intriguing podium battle.

Odegaard To Score + Arsenal To Win (Arsenal vs Everton) 2pm Sunday – 11/4

Arsenal lost their unbeaten record last week when falling to defeat at Man United, but they should resume winning ways back at home against a struggling Everton side.

The gunners have won all three home games this season, scoring eight goals in the process. They’ve had seven different players score already this year, but it’s one of their more prolific players who has caught our eye in the betting – Martin Odegaard. The Norwegian has been instrumental to the strong start for the gunners and has already banged in three goals, so looks well on course to smash his tally of seven PL goals last season.

Martin Odegaard netted in this fixture last year, which saw Arsenal run out convincing 5-1 winners, and he looks excellent value to do so again this time around. The odds of 11/4 on Skybet for ODEGAARD TO SCORE + ARSENAL TO WIN looks far too good to miss, which can hopefully round off the final leg of our mega odds cross-sport acca!
