It might be worth chancing CLIARA to overturn recent form with reopposing Irish Poseidon over this longer trip and John McConnell’s charge can get back on the up.

The Morpheus filly has won twice in 2020, scoring at Wolverhampton back in February and also on turf at Ballinrobe in July; he also finished a good third over course and distance in between but latter efforts have been less inspiring.

Perhaps not seen to best effect last time out when finishing seventh to Paul Flynn’s reopposing rival he could do better back over this longer trip; while it is worth remembering that he was giving that one 5lbs at the weights due to his rival jockey’s claim and he’s 4lbs better off now.

That ought to be enough to make things a bit closer between the pair and if bouncing back to the sort of form he showed previously then he could make his presence felt for his in-form yard.

BOITRON won a Listed contest at Newbury back in August 2018 during his time with Richard Hannon and took his chances in Group company in the wake of that win where he contested the Prix Jean-luc Lagardere and the Greenham Stakes prior to joining Denis Hogan.

The Le Havre colt probably needed his first run back following almost 18 months off the track when beating only two home over this course and distance last month; but he stepped up on that effort latest when getting to within a head of Highly Approved and he might be able to go one better here.

He steps back up to one mile for this latest run which is unlikely to present an issue now he’s regained racing sharpness and on the pick of his historic form he ought to go close for all this trip perhaps just stretches him.

Joey Sheridan though can claim a valuable 5lbs and he can make his presence felt in this claimer where he could get back to winning ways.

Dundalk all-weather best bets. Boitron can return to winning ways for Denis Hogan.

4:10 Dundalk – Irishinjuredjockeys.com Apprentice Handicap (Div II) (3yo+ 45-65) 1m

ADAPT TO DAN has proven to be generally consistent and Denis Hogan’s charge might be able to get back on the scoresheet in this apprentices’ contest from his inside draw in stall one.

The Dandy Man gelding posted his latest success at Gowran Park in September, beating Sassy Dancer, and he has made the frame in all but one of his starts since which includes latest when finishing a close fourth – beaten a half-length – behind Everyhouronthehour over course and distance seven days ago.

He can race from the same mark here while his useful claimer can take off a handy chunk of weight through his 4lbs allowance and it is worth noting he met with trouble in running last time else he might have won and a repeat of that effort with slightly more luck in running this time could be enough to see him make a return to winning ways.

BROKERS TIP has found some improvement since tackling handicaps where the Anjaal gelding has twice finished third and Darren Bunyan’s charge can register a breakthrough win here.

Beaten around two lengths each time his latest start saw him show improved form and there’s likely to better still to come from him given he remains relatively unexposed and can compete here from the same mark as last time.

It wouldn’t come as a surprise to see another bold run from him in this contest and he can get off the mark in this contest.
