JUST LET GO could prove the answer and the Kingston Hill gelding has shaped with some ability in a trio of starts to date, arriving here very much still unexposed with this longer trip expected to suit Andrew Oliver’s charge.
He built on his reappearance from a long absence when finishing fifth here twelve days ago, running on well late but no match for the winner and beaten around five lengths. However given his breeding he is expected to do better faced with a more searching test of stamina and he now tries one mile which can unlock some improvement.
Also making his handicap debut he could be fairly treated off just 66 for this outing and he could give a good account of himself here.
5:30 Dundalk – BetVictor Casino Handicap (Div I) (3yo+ 45-65) 7f
CAESAR’S COMET hasn’t won for a while, but he’s made the frame in each of his last three starts and the Acclamation gelding can remain competitive here turned out just five days after finishing third over six furlongs at this venue.
John McAuley’s charge was a Bellewstown winner in July, running out a two lengths’ winner of a claimer and he’s been holding his form well since despite failing to add to his tally and there’s every chance he can give another good account.
He continues to remain well-treated on the pick of his old efforts despite running consistently and fully effective at this distance he should be in the mix once more with Shane Foley back in the saddle.
6:00 Dundalk – BetVictor Casino Handicap (Div II) (3yo+ 45-65) 7f
BELEAGUREMENT got back to winning ways when scoring over six furlongs here five days ago, beating Eglish by a head and racing under a penalty the Kodiac gelding might be able to follow up.
A fair and consistent sort for John McConnell at a modest level he was a Gowran Park winner over the summer for that handler and has since run four times for new trainer, finishing third at Bellewstown in September before being undone by the draw over course and distance on his next start.
He resumed winning ways last time with a solid run under this rider, battling back well once headed and on his earlier form he remains fairly weighted despite his penalty so another big run wouldn’t come as a surprise.
7:00 Dundalk – Crowne Plaza Hotel Dundalk Handicap (Div II) (3yo+ 45-65) 1m4f
ABLE JACK has failed to add to his tally since 2019 and his form has been rather in-and-out since posting a brace of victories at this venue for Pat Murphy.
Now with Gerard O’Leary the Iffraaj gelding turned in a better effort that had been the case previously when finishing third over ten furlongs here and now trying even further he could end his losing streak.
A mark of just 61 and with his rider able to utilise his full allowance here he’s very well treated on his best form – 84-rated winner for Stuart Williams – and he can give a good account here.
