DONCASTER RACING TIPS
GOOBINATOR (8/11, Paddy Power) has taken really well to hurdling, winning two of his three starts in this sphere and only being beaten a head in his sole defeat.
The Noble Mission gelding has also won the all-weather and he made a good impression getting back on the scoresheet at Carlisle earlier in the month when running out a ready ten lengths’ winner over Archi’s Affaire.
Donald McCain’s charge likely has better still to come and with further improvement likely he could prove tough to beat as he bids for another win here.
RAMONEX (11/2, Coral) had made a promising return to action following a lengthy layoff at Market Rasen last month although he was beaten when falling at the last fence. However, he had gone well for a long way in that reappearance and the Saddex gelding could do better here if none the worse for that fall.
Richard Hobson’s charge was a Catterick winner over the larger obstacles on New Years’ Day 2018, but he wasn’t seen for almost 600 days following a subsequent runner-up effort at Perth until that last outing.
He should strip fitter for the run and he’s been given some time to recover from his tumble. The handicapper has also dropped him 3lbs in the weights and so he could be worth chancing here to get back on the scoresheet.
IT’S PROBABLY ME (6/4, Unibet) finished just over two lengths’ runner-up behind reopposing Molly Ollys Wishes at Warwick last time out; but those places might be reversed here with Henry Daly’s charge meeting that rival on significantly better terms.
The Great Pretender mare had made the frame in Listed company the time before, finishing third to the impressive Marie’s Rock, and this shorter trip is likely to suit her better than her rival.
With the excellent Richard Patrick also able to claim 3lbs here she looks worth siding with to overturn that Warwick form in this rematch and she can come out on top.
2.00 – Midnight Moss
2.35 – Goobinator
3.05 – Ramonex
3.40 – Miah Grace
4.10 – It’s Probably Me
4.45 – First Flow
5.15 – Royal Crown
NEWBURY RACING TIPS
FINANCIAL OUTCOME (5/2, Bet365) has been running well of late, getting off the mark over fences when successful at Doncaster in January. Rebecca Curtis’ charge was still in with every chance when last seen at Uttoxeter before behind halted by a shocking blunder and the Financial Reward gelding could bounce back.
Twice a winner between the flags earlier in his career, he has taken well to chasing and ran out a comfortable winner over Ballymagroarty Boy at Doncaster on his penultimate start.
He’s had wind surgery since his last outing which might elicit some improvement and every chance he can make his presence felt here off the same mark with Adam Wedge back in the saddle.
IT SURE IS (7/4, Coral) won between the flags for Colin Bowe prior to a move to Nicky Henderson and the Shirocco gelding shaped well on his debut for the Seven Barrows trainer at this venue in November where only Sevarano proved too strong.
Heavy ground might have been a factor in his slightly disappointing effort next time at Ascot when beaten around seven lengths into fourth behind Whatsupwithyou and he’s had wind surgery since so might be capable of bouncing back following a break.
It remains early days and that last run has since thrown up a trio of winners so the form looks decent. He has the potential for better and he looks worth another chance.
2.10 – Iconic Muddle
2.45 – Monte Cristo
3.15 – Financial Outcome
3.50 – It Sure Is
4.20 – Tambura
4.55 – Billingsley
5.25 – Whiskey Lullaby
LINGFIELD RACNG TIPS
It is likely only a matter of time until SOUND MIXER (10/3, Unibet) gets off the mark and the Cable Bay filly can strike here to open her account.
William Haggas’ charge has made the frame on all three starts this campaign, twice finishing runner-up and shaping better than the bare result latest when caught further back than ideal when the pace lifted.
She had gone close the time before however and she remains one to be interested in with the potential for further improvement. She should be winning before too long and this looks a decent opportunity for her to register a first win.
FIZZY FEET (11/4, Paddy Power) paid the price for going off too hard last time at Chelmsford, fading out of contention having tried to make all and eventually trailing home last of the eight runners.
David Loughnane’s charge however is forgiven that effort and the Footstepsinthesand filly could be worth another chance back at this venue where she has won on two of her three previous visits including on her penultimate start when beating the reopposing Total Commitment.
She is 2lbs worse off with that rival here for little over one length, while she has to bounce back from her last poor effort. However, given her good record at this venue she may well atone for that run and every chance she can do better this time around.
2.20 – River Dawn
2.55 – Sound Mixer
3.30 – Healing Power
4.00 – Fizzy Feet
4.35 – Miss Elsa
5.05 – Distant Goddess
DUNDALK RACING TIPS
ABLE JACK (7/2, BetVictor) could be worth chancing to get back on the scoresheet and Gerard O’Leary’s charge could go close despite his wide draw.
The Iffraaj gelding won twice at this venue towards the end of last year over further than this when trained by John Joseph Murphy; but he was disappointing when sent to Newcastle on his first start for this yard where he beat only one home.
A drop to six furlongs could suit given he is likely to go forward early and he may be sharpened up by the application of blinkers for the first time. He could go close dropping into claiming company, and while his draw on the outer isn’t ideal here it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him post a big run.
CROSSFIREHURRICANE (11/4, Unibet) is 2-2 in his career and the Kitten’s Joy colt can land a hat-trick of wins.
A winner at Limerick in June, he improved for a break and the application of a tongue-tie to run out an impressive winner over seven furlongs at this course earlier in the month where he scored by the thick end of four lengths.
The extra furlong here could unlock additional improvement and with the potential for better to come he can take the step up in class in his stride to make it a perfect three from three.
5.00 – Wild Shot
5.30 – Able Jack
6.00 – Irradiate
6.30 – Healy’s Double
7.00 – Crossfirehurricane
7.30 – Major Power
8.00 – San Andreas
8.30 – Briseuse De Coeur
NEWCASTLE RACING TIPS
LEXINGTON FORCE (4/5, BetVictor) overcame inexperience to make a winning debut at Kempton earlier in the month, running out a two lengths’ winner over Law Of Peace; Richard Hannon’s charge ought to have learned plenty for that outing and can improve to follow up.
The Dabirsim colt looked a useful in that first run, quickening up well once the penny dropped having looked green early; but he was well on top at the end and he’s likely to know more this time around.
While he takes on some interesting newcomers in this race, he could prove tough to beat if improving on the back of that debut success and he can double up here.
MOUNTAIN BRAVE (4/1, Bet365) has looked a useful sort in her four outings to date, getting off the mark at the fourth attempt having made the frame in all her previous runs with a win at Wolverhampton earlier in the month.
The Sepoy filly ran out a half-length winner over Barbelo on that occasion, making all the running and perhaps just idling in front although he always looked in command. That form has taken a knock, but Mark Johnston’s charge remains capable of better and he shouldn’t be inconvenienced by the drop back in trip.
A 5lbs rise in the weights for that recent win looks fair and for all this looks a tougher assignment he can build on that last success to double his win tally here.
5.10 – Fair Star
5.45 – Lexington Force
6.15 – Buniann
6.45 – Mountain Brave
7.15 – Hunters Step
7.45 – Lord Of The Glen
