A trio of UK horse racing meetings go to post on Wednesday where the day’s jumps racing comes from the meeting at Ludlow; while on the all-weather in the afternoon there is a fixture on the Southwell fibresand.

Completing the Wednesday trio of fixtures is a meeting under the floodlights at Wolverhampton on their tapeta surface. Brian Healy looks at the day’s fixtures and gives his free Wednesday racing tips for every race going to post.

Southwell (flat, aw) – 1.30 – 4.30pm (7 races)
Ludlow (jumps) – 1.45 – 4.45pm (7 races)
Wolverhampton (flat, aw) – 5.05 – 8.10pm (7 races)

2.15 Ludlow – PAINT THE DREAM (4/6, Unibet)
2.30 Southwell – EQUIDAE (5/1, William Hill)
2.45 Ludlow – ORIENTAL CROSS (7/2, William Hill)
3.15 Ludlow – MOLINEUX (10/3, William Hill)
3.30 Southwell – MOSAKHAR (6/4, William Hill)
6.40 Wolverhampton – DELEYLL (5/1, William Hill)
7.10 Wolverhampton – REEVES (2/1, William Hill)

(2.30 Southwell)

EQUIDAE (5/1, William Hill) hasn’t won for a while, but his latest fourth place finish at Newcastle was a better effort and Iain Jardine’s charge could be worth chancing here to end his losing streak.

The Equiano horse was beaten almost seven lengths behind Proceeding when last seen out last month at Newcastle; he’s been eased another 2lbs following that outing and he could take advantage of the further drop in the weights to get back on the scoresheet.

Has last win came at this venue over one mile and from a mark of 65, but the drop to seven furlongs is no issue and he’s well handicapped on past form so every chance he can go close here.

(3.30 Southwell)

MOSAKHAR (6/4, William Hill) is 2-2 over course and distance and can land his hat-trick with the prospect of further improvement still to come.

The Dawn Approach gelding got off the mark here in November where he ran out a four lengths’ victor over Momtalk, after which he returned from a couple of months off the track with a defeat of Smile A Mile last month where he scored by three lengths.

The Dawn Approach gelding was value for more than the official winning margin and a 7lbs rise might not be enough to prevent him from the three-timer given he has proven his ability on this surface.

1.30 – Young Tiger
2.00 – Ladyleys Beluga
2.30 – Equidae
3.00 – Lion Tower
3.30 – Mosakhar
4.00 – Six Til Twelve
4.30 – Arabian King

(2.15 Ludlow)

PAINT THE DREAM (4/6, Unibet) has finished runner-up in each of his past two starts and the Brian Boru gelding could get back on the scoresheet here.

Fergal O’Brien’s charge won a Perth hurdle last April, and following his return from a break he faced tough assignments behind Thyme Hill at Chepstow over hurdles before locking horns with Brewin’upastorm on his chase debut at Taunton.

He hasn’t been beaten far in either of his subsequent runs over fences, latterly finishing just over one length runner-up Midnight Shadow in the Dipper Novices’ Chase although he would have finished third at best but for the fall of Champ.

This is a much easier test however, and the lesser trip is likely to suit so every chance he can open his chase win account now.

(2.45 Ludlow)

ORIENTAL CROSS (7/2, William Hill) arrives here on a hat-trick of wins having already struck wins at Southwell and Sandown, and Tim Vaughn’s charge can land the three-timer here.

The Cape Cross mare had also won at Newcastle last March on her first outing following wind surgery, and having possibly needed her run at Southwell in October behind Oscar Rose – her first in six months – she ran out a seven lengths’ winner over her next start over Ishyaboi.

She took a step up in grade to beat Deputy’s Oscar when last seen and that race has thrown up a winner since so she might be able to defy a 5lbs rise in the weights over this extra furlong.

(3.15 Ludlow)

MOLINEUX (10/3, William Hill) had been running better than his bare form on each of his first two starts over fences following wind surgery over this trip and took full advantage of the drop to two miles to get back on the scoresheet at Wincanton last month.

That track has proven to be to the King’s Theatre gelding’s liking, winning three of his four starts at the Somerset venue, and he had a subsequent winner behind when registering his latest success where he dug deep for the win.

A 4lbs rise in the weights for that success might not be enough of a burden to prevent a repeat success and he can build on that recent win to follow up in this contest.

1.45 – Langer Dan
2.15 – Paint The Dream
2.45 – Oriental Cross
3.15 – Molineaux
3.45 – Dorah
4.15 – Thedellercheckout
4.45 – Polish

(6.40 Wolverhampton)

DELEYLL (5/1, William Hill) is a past course and distance winner, scoring here back in March 2018 with a defeat of Kath’s Legacy; the Sepoy gelding has since struggled somewhat for form, but he posted a return to form when getting back to winning ways at Kempton latest with a neck defeat of Beau Geste.

That was over ten furlongs and he appeared to score a shade readily, running on late from the back and between rivals to get up close home. The third from that race has won since to give the form a boost and a repeat could be good enough here.

Only 2lbs higher than that last success he can continue to remain competitive and every chance he can strike again.

(7.10 Wolverhampton)

REEVES (2/1, William Hill) is thriving at present, notching up his fourth successive win when scoring by a short-head at Lingfield over Power Link.

That win was all the more creditable as he had to make his own running in that race and he found plenty when challenged to land the win. He’s also scored twice at Chelmsford as well as at this venue over six furlongs in December.

Narrow margins of victory may have the handicapper struggling to keep tabs on him and although he is up another 2lbs he drops back in grade for this outing. There’ll be more of a pace to this race which ought to suit him and no surprise to see him follow up again.

5.05 – Foresee
5.40 – Mount Mogan
6.10 – Equally Fast
6.40 – Deleyll
7.10 – Reeves
7.40 – Seventeen O Four
8.10 – Golden Fountain
