FRIDAY DUNDALK RACING TIPS – IRISH ALL-WEATHER RACING BEST BETS
5:15 Dundalk – Crowne Plaza Hotel Dundalk Handicap (3yo+ 45-70) 1m2½f
LEABALAND has been working his way back to some sort of form and it might be worth chancing the Cappella Sansevero gelding to get back on the scoresheet here.
Mick Halford’s charge is a past course-winner, scoring here last October from a higher mark than this and while he’s largely cut little ice since on turf this term his latest run at Punchestown was a better effort than he’d previously been turning in.
Back on this surface and with blinkers now applied he could take a forward step here and Mikey Sheehy’s 5lbs claim is a further positive so every chance here of a big performance returned to polytrack.
5:45 Dundalk – BetVictor Loyalty Club Handicap (3yo+) 1m2½f
IRWIN comes into this race on the back of a last-time win – the second of the year – having struck over course and distance three weeks ago and Joseph O’Brien’s charge can follow up here.
The Australia colt had won over one mile here in January prior to beating only one home on his turf debut at Leopardstown in a race won by Sir Lamorak, possibly amiss in that outing. But he bounced back following a break with a much improved effort to defeat Sense Of Worth over this trip latest and there could be more to come.
An 8lbs rise in the weights certainly demands more from him but he’s proven on this surface and lightly raced in comparison to most of his rivals so there’d be no surprise in another big run here and he can land another win.
6:15 Dundalk – Floodlit Fridays At Dundalk Nursery Handicap (2yo 45-70) 7f
MUMAYAZ has been in good form this campaign and the Tamayuz gelding can land a second career win.
Kevin Prendergast’s charge was a winner at Down Royal last month, beating Walking On Clouds by a short-head and while he’s been beaten on both subsequent outings he latterly went down only by a nose at the Curragh behind Magniffico.
Switching to polytrack for the first time he does have to prove as effective on this surface, but should he handle the different conditions then he could go close here with his rider’s claim effectively allowing him to run off the same mark as last time.
