Friday’s Daily Double – Best bets at Chelmsford and Ffos Las
Chris Loader rolls his best bets into this Daily Double, covering races at Chelmsford and Ffos Las on Friday 6th March.
It was a frustrating day with the Racing Tips Daily Double on Thursday, as we had a faller in the shape of Braeside when he was still in contention and Skipping On looked liked the eventual winner but hit the front well too early. Today we look to Chelmsford and Ffos Las for some winners. Best odds available with William Hill.

Friday’s Daily Double
4.15 Chelmsford – Vexed
Vexed has been a frustrating sort for punters in his career and still remains a maiden for David Simock. However it seems that a win could be on the cards anytime soon and today can be his day. The reason behind my confidence is from his latest effort at Lingfield where he was making a very late challenge but couldn’t quite get there in time. Therefore moving up for a crack at two miles is a understandable move. The son of Charm Spirit has only tried the distance once but wasn’t too far beaten when he finished fourth in a better race. This track I think can suit him and Hayley Turner retains the ride again which is another positive. For me this four-year-old could possibly go odds on come post time.
4.30 Ffos Las – Astra Via
It’s undoubtedly going to be testing work at Ffos Las today and therefore I am siding with the bottom weight Astra Via. This five-year-old has been running well on his recent starts and made the frame to finish third at Taunton in a competitive handicap when he was last seen. That race has worked out as No No Tonic finished second at Wincanton on Thursday. The son of Multiplex has already shown his ability on heavy ground so the going shouldn’t pose any problems here. With Isabel Williams taking a further seven pounds off I believe Astra Via will get his head in front.
