Horse racing fixtures 2-8 December – Details of all this week’s UK and Irish racemeetings

Brian Healy looks ahead to the next seven days' UK and Irish horse racing action and details the best of the action and all the week's fixtures.

Another classy week of UK and Irish horse racing action awaits punters with the Grade One Tingle Creek Chase at Sandown being the feature race of the next seven days, although there is plenty of top-class action elsewhere also.

Other highlights of the week include the Grade Three Becher Chase over the Grand National fences at Aintree on Saturday on a racecard which also feature the Grade Two Many Clouds Chase; while the feature race in Ireland sees the Grade One John Durkan Memorial Chase take centre stage on the Sunday card at Punchestown.

Also on the sabbath, the Grade Two Peterborough Chase at Huntingdon, and the Borders National at Kelso both also go to post to round off another excellent week of racing action.

MONDAY 2 DECEMBER

The week kicks off with a low-key programme of just three UK meetings where there jumps racing action goes to post from Musselburgh and Plumpton; while on the all-weather there is a fixture at Wolverhampton on their tapeta surface.

TUESDAY 3 DECEMBER

Four UK and Irish horse racing fixtures go to post on Tuesday with afternoon jumps racing from both Southwell and Lingfield, while there is a rare afternoon card on the all-weather in Ireland where there is action at Dundalk on their tapeta surface.

Completing Tuesday’s line-up is an evening all-weather fixture on the Wolverhampton tapeta.

WEDNESDAY 4 DECEMBER

A further four UK and Irish horse racing meetings take place on Wednesday with afternoon jumps racing from both Ludlow and Haydock; while on the all-weather there is also a meeting on the Lingfield polytrack.

Rounding off the Wednesday action in the evening is a further all-weather fixture on the Kempton polytrack where there is Listed action taking place.

Thursday’s fixture list of UK and Irish horse racing meetings takes in five fixtures with afternoon jumps racing from Market Rasen, Leicester and Wincanton; whilst there is also jumps racing in Ireland from Clonmel.

Completing the Thursday fixture list is an evening all-weather meeting under the floodlights at Southwell where they race on fibresand.

FRIDAY 6 DECEMBER

Five more UK and Irish horse racing fixtures take place on Friday with afternoon jumps racing from Sedgefield, Exeter and Sandown where it is day one of the Tingle Creek Festival which features the Grade Two Winter Novices’ Hurdle.

Meanwhile, in the evening there is all-weather action under the floodlights on Newcastle’s tapeta surface, as well as on polytrack in Ireland at Dundalk.

SATURDAY 7 DECEMBER

Six UK and Irish horse racing meetings will go to post throughout Saturday, which features the Grade One Tingle Creek Chase on the card at Sandown, where racing at the Esher track also includes the Grade One Henry VIII Novices’ Chase.

There is also racing from Aintree where the Grade Two Many Clouds Chase and Grade Three Becher Chase over the Grand National fences are both on the agenda at the Merseyside track.

There is also jumps racing from Wetherby and Chepstow on Saturday, with the Welsh Grand National Trial spearheading the action at the Welsh track; while in Ireland there is a fixture over the sticks at Navan where there is Grade Three action on the card with the Klairon Davis Chase.

Completing an action-packed Saturday is an evening all-weather fixture at Wolverhampton on their tapeta surface.

Four meetings round off the week’s UK and Irish horse racing action, and there is action from Kelso where it is Borders National Day, and also from Huntingdon where the Grade Two Peterborough Chase takes centre-stage on their fixture.

Meanwhile, in Ireland there is further jumps action from Cork where it is Hilly Way Chase day, and the Grade Two feature is joined on the card by Grade Three action; while Punchestown’s jumps fixture sees Grade One action with the John Durkan Memorial Chase taking centre-stage.
