Brian Healy takes a look ahead to this week’s UK and Irish horse racing fixtures and details every fixture and racing highlight over the next seven days.
A new week of horse racing gets underway, and following a relatively quiet spell in the week past there is more for punters to look forward to in the days ahead.
The Group One Sprint Cup Stakes takes centre stage of the week’s schedule with the feature race going to post on Saturday at Haydock on a card which also includes the Group Three Unibet Mile.
There is also Group Three action during the week at Salisbury with the latest renewal of the Dick Poole Filles’ Stakes; while the Listed Garrowby Stakes heads Sunday’s racing at York.
Meanwhile Sunday also sees the start of the week-long Listowel Harvest Festival meeting.
MONDAY 2 SEPTEMBER
Monday sees a new week of horse racing action get underway, and five UK and Irish race-meetings go to post with afternoon action on the flat from the cards at Chepstow and Brighton.
Meanwhile, in the evening there are further flat racing meetings at both Windsor and Roscommon in Ireland; while over the sticks there is a fixture at Hexham going to post.

Tuesday sees four UK meetings going to post as racing in Ireland takes a day off, and there is afternoon horse racing action on the flat from the cards at Catterick and Goodwood.
Meanwhile, the evening action sees further flat racing on turf at Salisbury, while Kempton are racing on the all-weather.

Meanwhile, the evening racing action sees further racing on the flat on turf at Hamilton, and also on the all-weather at Chelmsford.

Six more meetings go to post across the UK and Ireland, where the Group Three Dick Poole Fillies’ Stakes is the feature race of the day at Salisbury.
Also racing in the afternoon is flat action from Haydock, and racing over the sticks at Sedgefield.
The evening racing meanwhile comes on the flat on turf at Lingfield, while Chelmsford are racing on their all-weather surface. There is also jumps racing in Ireland at Clonmel.

Rounding off Friday’s fixture list is an evening jumps racing card in Ireland at Kilbeggan.

A busy Saturday sees eight UK and Irish horse racing fixtures taking place, and the day’s action on the flat comes from Ascot where there is competitive handicap action; while Haydock’s meeting on Saturday afternoon features Group One action with the Sprint Cup Stakes, while the Group Three Unibet Mile provides solid support to the main event of the day.
Thirsk and Navan in Ireland are both in action on turf on Saturday, while Kempton race on the all-weather are also racing on the level on Saturday.
There is also jumps racing from Stratford on the afternoon as well as from Wexford.in Ireland. Completing Saturday’s fixture list is an evening all-weather card at Wolverhampton.
