Brian Healy looks ahead to the best of the UK and Irish horse racing action and details every fixture going to post over the next seven days.
Another cracking week of UK and Irish horse racing action goes to post over the course of the next seven days following the Cheltenham Showcase meeting last weekend, and the week’s highlights include the two-day Charlie Hall Chase meeting at Wetherby; while at Ascot on Saturday the Sodexho Gold Cup goes to post.
Meanwhile, in Ireland, there is Grade One action on Saturday with the Ladbrokes Champion Chase at Down Royal; while at Cork on Sunday it is Cork National day.

MONDAY 28 OCTOBER

The new week kicks off with four UK and Irish fixtures, and the afternoon action on the flat comes from Galway in Ireland; while over the sticks there is racing from Wexford in Ireland, as well as from Ayr.
Completing Monday’s line-up of meetings is an evening all-weather fixture from Kempton.
Leicester’s scheduled fixture on the flat was unfortunately abandoned due to a waterlogged track following a Sunday inspection.

A further four UK fixtures head to post throughout Tuesday where racing in Ireland takes a day off.
Tuesday’s afternoon action comes from Catterick on the flat, while Chepstow and Bangor both race over the sticks; while in the evening there is all-weather action under the floodlights on Southwell’s fibresand surface.

Wednesday sees six UK and Irish horse racing meetings taking place, and there is afternoon flat racing action from Nottingham, while jumps racing goes to post at Fakenham and Taunton.
Meanwhile, the evening all-weather action sees racing from Wolverhampton’s tapeta surface and also Kempton on polytrack, as well as Dundalk in Ireland where they also race on polytrack

Meanwhile, the evening all-weather action goes to post at Kempton and also Chelmsford with both venues racing on polytrack.

Six more UK and Irishhorse racing meetings go to post throughout Friday, and the afternoon’s flat racing action comes from Newmarket where there is Listed action; while over the sticks there are meetings from Uttoxeter and Wetherby, where the opening day of the Charlie Hall Chase gets underway.
There is also afternoon jumps racing from Down Royal where Grade Two action features on the card with the WKD Hurdle; while on the all-weather there are meetings at Newcastle on tapeta, and from Dundalk in Ireland on polytrack.

Another six UK And Irish horse racing meetings go to post on Saturday, and we make our final visit of the flat season to Newmarket where a trio of Listed races take centre stage at Flat HQ. Meanwhile, over the sticks there are meetings from Ascot, Ayr and Wetherby as well as from Down Royal in Ireland.
The Grade Three Sodexho Gold cup features amidst the action at Ascot, while the Grade Two Charlie Hall Chase spearhead’s Wetherby’s racecard which also includes the Grade Two West Yorkshire Hurdle.
Not to be outdone, Down Royal’s racecard includes Grade One action in the shape of the Ladbrokes Champion Chase.
Completing Saturday’s line-up of horse racing action across the UK and Ireland is an all-weather fixture on the Chelmsford polytrack.
