Brian Healy looks ahead to this week’s UK and Irish horse racing meetings and details every card going to post and the week’s key races.

A new week of UK and Irish horse racing action goes to post with plenty more classy flat and jumps racing to look forward to, including the culmination of the current Flat racing with the competitive November Handicap on Saturday.

Elsewhere, the latest renewal of the Haldon Gold Cup goes to post at Exeter on Tuesday; while later in the week at Wincanton on Saturday there is Grade Two action with the Elite Hurdle and an early look at some potential Champion Hurdle candidates, as well as the competitive Badger Ales Trophy.

Sunday in Ireland meanwhile sees Grade Two action with the Lismullen Hurdle and the Fortria Chase both on the agenda, while Sandown’s Sunday card features Listed chase action.

MONDAY 4 NOVEMBER

The week gets underway with a four-fixture schedule of UK horse racing fixtures which takes in jumps racing from the meetings at Hereford and Plumpton, while on the all-weather there is an afternoon fixture on the Kempton polytrack.

Also racing on Monday evening is Newcastle, who go to post on their tapeta surface under the floodlights.

Following the loss of Redcar’s schedule Tuesday fixture, four meetings remain to go to post which sees afternoon jumps racing from Exeter where the latest renewal of the classy Grade Two Haldon Gold Cup takes place, and also Fairyhouse in Ireland; while Southwell are racing on their all-weather surface.
Meanwhile, the evening action on Tuesday takes in further all-weather action from Kempton’s polytrack surface.

Meanwhile, the afternoon jumps racing action comes from the meetings at Chepstow and Musselburgh.
In the evening, there is a brace of all-weather meetings with fixtures on polytrack at Kempton, while Wolverhampton are racing on the all-weather on their tapeta surface.

The Listed Bud Booth Mares’ Chase is the feature race of the afternoon and takes place at Market Rasen, getting underway at 2.15pm.
The evening all-weather line-up meanwhile consists of a meeting on the Chelmsford polytrack, as well as from Southwell who race on their fibresand surface.

Meanwhile, over the sticks there are meetings at Kelso, Aintree and Wincanton, where it is Elite Hurdle day and the Grade Two contest features on a quality racecard at the Somerset venue which also includes the Badger Ales Trophy.

There is also jumps racing in Ireland at Naas where there is Grade Three action headed by the Poplar Square Chase; while Saturday’s fixture list is completed by all-weather racing at Southwell on their fibresand surface.
