Horse Racing tips
It’s the end of a fascinating week but there is still plenty of interest and bets to be had with meetings at York, Fontwell and Musselburgh on Sunday
So check out Sunday’s top horse racing tips and don’t forget to click the links to take advantage of the best price on offer.
LUIGI VAMPA (1.30 York, 1m3f handicap)
You might want to watch the start with your hands over your eyes if you back Luigi Vampa as he’s blown the start in two of his last three starts and lost any chance.
Connections have put blinkers on him for the first time here presumably in an effort to aid his concentration and the last time he broke on terms he ran a great race to finish fourth in a hot handicap at Glorious Goodwood.
Should go well if breaking on terms.
CAPONE (1.40 Fontwell, 2m3f handicap hurdle)
Ran well in a couple of starts on the Flat in June and confirmed that promise on his first start back over jumps when coming from a long way back to finish third behind Brandon Castle over two miles at Market Rasen three weeks ago.
Step up to this trip looks as if it will suit given his form up to two miles on the Flat and trainer Charlie Mann was among the winners earlier this week.
WATAN (2.00 York, 6f Listed)
Has been taken out of a couple of races due to soft conditions so drying ground should suit.
Made a pleasing reappearance when second in a decent race at Newbury before arguably disappointing when quietly fancied for the Stewards’ Cup at Goodwood last time.
Suspect that the fast pace in a 30-runner handicap was his undoing and that he’ll be better suited by the slower pace and smaller field here.
Should still be improving as he’s had just nine career starts and he is overpriced to confirm the promise of his seasonal debut.
BOMA GREEN (3.40 York, 6f handicap)
One of the most lightly raced in this field with just two career starts and made a promising debut for trainer Charlie Fellowes at Chepstow last time.
Badly missed the break on that occasion and still looked inexperienced when making his challenge before fading late on.
Should improve for that run and drop to 6f could be a good move, while top jockey Hollie Doyle is a good jockey booking.
