4:10 Sligo – Strandhill Caravan Park A Splendid Location For Staycation Claiming Race (4yo+) 1m4½f

ESTEPONA SUN was fairly useful for Ger Lyons a season or two ago, winning twice for that handler before a short stay at Noel Kelly’s enroute to current handler Denis Hogan who has been running the Tamayuz gelding over hurdles where he’s often run well with four placed efforts from six starts.

The most recent saw him finish third to Craic Eile at Tramore and he could go well here back on the level where he’s been rated 80 for this claimer.

He does have a big weight to shoulder as a result but Joey Sheridan can take off 5lbs and he was given a 87 rating when winning a claimer for Ger Lyons previously as well as winning a handicap from an official 80 rating.

This will be no easy task though even given that weight deduction, but he’s fit and in form and if he can bring his hurdles form back to this sphere then there’d be no surprise in seeing him going close.

4:45 Sligo – Irish Stallion Farms EBF Median Auction Race (3yo+) 6f

Twice-raced SHAHAADAH can get off the mark at the third attempt and Kevin Prendergast’s charge has shown fair form in her two starts to date.

The Awtaad filly found only one too good on debut at the Curragh last August, beaten just over one length by Shandra and she may have needed her reappearance behind Iva Batt when making an appearance at Dundalk in April where she finished fourth.

Beaten two lengths on that occasion she ought to have more to offer and she takes on more exposed rivals as she returns to turf where this shorter trip should present no issue. This could be a decent opportunity for her to open her win account and every chance she can collect with further improvement likely on the back of that reappearance.

6:30 Sligo – Rosses Point Caravan Park Beautiful Beaches Of Sligo Handicap (Div II) (3yo+ 45-65) 6f

PRETTY SMART hasn’t won since scoring at Navan back in October last year, but the Dandy Man mare has kept her form well in defeat and could get back on track here.

Beaten just under two lengths by Aurora Eclipse at Fairyhouse on her most recent start she had got to within a half-length of Mi Esperanza at Naas in May and she’s only 1lb higher so ought to continue to make her presence felt for her in-form yard.

Winning doesn’t appear to come naturally to this field of largely exposed rivals but Patrick Martin’s charge should give a good account and can come out on top here under her good claiming rider.

8:00 Sligo – RSS Document Storage Maiden (4yo+) 1m2½f

LORD PARK has yet to get his head in front but he’s turned in a number of solid runs and the largely consistent Tamayuz gelding can gain some just reward for his efforts with a first win.

Mick Halford’s charge has finished runner-up or third in all but two of his last nine starts, most recently bagging a bronze medal at Gowran Park last week when beaten just over one length by Overheer.

He finished off the race strongly on that occasion and he’d finished third also over this slightly longer trip at Leopardstown last campaign and he ought to continue to make his presence felt with the likely stronger pace here sure to be in his favour.

It wouldn’t be a surprise if he were to make the breakthrough here under his claiming rider and with the yard in decent nick at present he can finally break his duck this time.
