IRISH HORSE RACING BEST BETS – RACING TIPS FOR LEOPARDSTOWN ON THURSDAY 17 JUNE
4:10 Leopardstown – Irish EBF Auction Series Race (IRE Incentive Race) (2yo) 7f
DAISY PEERS was only undone by inexperience behind reopposing Elzaam Tales at Roscommon on her debut last month but with that outing under her belt Fozzy Stack’s charge can reverse that form.
The New Bay filly was only beaten a neck on that occasion, running on late having met with trouble and she improved as the race went on having run green early.
She’s 5lbs better off now with her last-time conquerer who had the benefit of a previous run, but open to progress on the back of that introduction she can take full advantage of the weight concession here to come out on top and open her win account.
5:20 Leopardstown – Leopardstown Golf Course & Driving Range Handicap (4yo+ 45-70) 7f
SISTER LOLA struck her latest win at Gowran Park in April, beating Pretty Rebel by a short-head and the Slade Power filly has placed twice since from three starts, the latest coming when beaten only a half-length into third behind Sasvana over this course and distance seven days ago.
Ed Lynam’s charge might just have been given too much to do on that occasion having been held up, but she ran on well and she can race from the same mark now although her jockey can use his claim on this occasion which wasn’t the case last time given it was an apprentices’ contest.
First-time blinkers are also applied which could sharpen her up and every chance she can make her presence felt here.
5:55 Leopardstown – Dundrum Handicap (3yo) 1m
DIDEROT has raced twice on the all-weather, scoring readily at the second attempt when successful at Dundalk in March and now making his turf debut following a break it might be worth chancing Ger Lyons’ charge to continue his progress.
The Bated Breath gelding struck by two lengths when getting off the mark with a defeat of Hamwood Flier and both the third and fourth horses home in that race have won since to give the form a boost.
He does have to shoulder top-weight here as he steps into the handicap ranks for the first time, but there’s surely more to come from him and if the switch to turf doesn’t catch him out then he ought to go well back from his break.
6:30 Leopardstown – Leopardstown Handicap (3yo+ 45-75) 1m
COILL NA SIONAINNE might have been amiss when seeing his earlier progressive form grinding to a halt over course and distance last month, but William McCreery’s charge can bounce back having been given a month off.
The So You Think mare had made the frame in her three previous starts following her switch to this yard, scoring in decisive fashion at Naas in April and it may be that a fourth run in a month last time was one too many.
She’s been given a breather and could pick up on her earlier progress now from the same mark.
