Irish Horse Racing Tips – Best Bets On Sunday, April 3

Irish Horse Racing Tips – Sunday, April 3

There’s something for every punter in Ireland on Sunday as Fairyhouse plays host to a Graded Jumps card and Cork stages its first Flat card of the 2022 season. Our Irish horse racing expert has identified his top bets across these cards which you can check out below.

Measure Of Magic (3.12 Cork)

There doesn’t seem an awful lot between a chunk of the runners in this Listed Cork Stakes and therefore who’s going here fit will play a big part.

Johnny Murtagh claimed big race success last weekend and he’ll be aiming to continue the stable form with MEASURE OF MAGIC.

This daughter of Kodi Bear made a winning seasonal reappearance at Navan last April before going on to finish third in the Group 1 Commonwealth Cup. Her form tailed off somewhat after that success, but ending the season with a Group 3 third was no poor showing and 6f on good ground looks just about this filly’s optimum conditions.

Measure Of Magic has gained all four career wins between April and the end of July, so this appears the time of year to catch her, and a win on last season’s reappearance clearly shows her ability to act when fresh.

Ash Three Meadow (3.30 Fairyhouse)

Both Berkshire Royal and Falcon Eight bring classy Flat form into this awardsandgifts.ie Novice Hurdle, but at the prices, it looks worth opposing the pair with ASH TREE MEADOW.

Gordon Elliott’s charge had the 130-rated Since Day One behind when bolting up in a point last April. He justified favouritism to land a maiden hurdle at Navan earlier this year, yet it is his third prior at Leopardstown which catches the eye, with Ash Tree Meadow finishing behind subsequent Ballymore winner Sir Gerhard – runner-up has since landed a Grade 3.

Ash Tree Meadow admittedly failed to score at prohibitive odds at Thurles last time out, but the concession of just shy of a stone to The Little Yank – who is a classy operator on his day – just proved a little too much and these look more favourable terms for Ash Tree Meadow to find himself on. Good ground will suit Ash Tree Meadow (won his point on a sound surface) and therefore he can be chanced at the prices.

Irish Horse Racing Tips. Gordon Elliott has a live contender for the Grade 2 at Fairyhouse on Sunday in Ash Tree Meadow.

Pearl Palinka (4.22 Cork)

The best bet across the Irish cards appears to come from Cork, and their Book Tickets Online At corkracecourse.ie Handicap, where PEARL PALINKA can be backed with confidence to make a winning handicap debut.

Dermot Weld’s filly is bred to be decent being a sister to a Listed winner Servalan and she went in the notebook when landing a Down Royal maiden in September.

Pearl Palinka showed push button acceleration to score that day and the runner-up now holds an 85 rating on the all-weather, so the form looks solid.

That form in isolation makes Pearl Palinka look well treated here off an opening mark of 86, particularly with the promise of more to come, and it’s interesting that Chris Hayes takes over for the first time in the saddle this afternoon.

Irish Horse Racing Tips. Pearl Palinka rates the best bet across the Sunday cards for trainer Dermot Weld.
