Fans of Irish racing have two meetings to look forward to on Sunday where there is racing action both on the flat and over the sticks throughout the afternoon.

Naas’ fixture on the flat includes the Listed Garnet Stakes, while Cork hosts the day’s jumps racing card where a competitive Grade B handicap chase represents a tricky punting puzzle to be solved.

15 races will unfold across both of the day’s racecards and our tipping team has picked out their Irish racing Sunday best bets and tips for the day’s racing action.

IRISH RACING SUNDAY BEST BETS – RACING TIPS FOR CORK & NAAS

1:55 Cork – BetVictor Irish EBF Novice Hurdle (4yo+) 3m

PERFECT ATTITUDE comes into this race on the back of a win at Clonmel and the Passing Glance gelding can progress on the back of that victory to double up here.

Gordon Elliott’s charge showed a decent level of ability in bumpers where he collected a trio of bronze medals in starts which include here in April when beaten seven lengths by Scorpion’s Revenge; but he stepped up on those efforts to run out a narrow winner from Wild Shot last month, gamely scoring by half a length.

That was a better effort than it have looked as he was badly hampered early before wandering around approaching the second last; but he stuck well to his task for the win and he should come on for that experience where he can make his presence felt over this much longer trip.

2:50 Naas – Irish Stallion Farms EBF Garnet Stakes (Listed Race) (3yo+) 1m

EMANIYA has a few good efforts to her name including her latest outing where she found only Astadash too strong in a Group Three contest at Gowran Park last month, beaten three lengths.

Dermot Weld’s charge hasn’t won since scoring at Cork last August, but he’s kept a good level of company and has placed twice in this grade this term although that latest run was arguably her best to date.

Assuming the Sea The Stars filly can build on that performance then she ought to be competitive here and no surprise to see her in the mix.

4:00 Naas – Irish EBF Auction Series Nursery Handicap (IRE Incentive Race) (2yo) 6f

IT’S SNOWING has shown progressive form with each start, winning at Dundalk in August when tried over this trip for the first time and running well in defeat subsequently behind Unconquerable Keen at Fairyhouse.

Jessica Harrington’s charge had a subsequent winner behind her that day and left alone at the weights for this latest outing the Kodiac filly can improve again to resume winning ways.

4:15 Cork – coopsuperstores.ie Handicap Chase (Grade B) (4yo+) 2m1½f

POSEIDON can get off the mark over fences and the Born To Sea gelding can make his presence felt here.

Charles Byrne’s charge is lightly raced over fences but bagged a pair of silver medal finishes in starts at Tipperary and Killarney, beating subsequent winner Embittered on the latter occasion and he surely would have gone close with a clear round at Listowel when last seen.

He switches now to a handicap where he may have been let in lightly off this mark given his earlier exploits and he was rated higher than this over hurdles; assuming he’s learnt from the mistake he made last time he can post a big effort here and if his jumping holds up then there’d be little surprise in seeing him firmly in the mix at the business end.
