IRISH RACING TIPS ON TUESDAY – BEST BETS AT DOWNPATRICK & KILLARNEY
1:55 Downpatrick – Plus2Print Remembering Tony Oakes MBE Hurdle (4yo+) 2m1½f
BUDDY RICH has shown some fair form over hurdles firstly for Martin Brassil and latterly for Sneezy Foster for whom the Rock Of Gibraltar gelding made the winning breakthrough when successful at Kilbeggan in April.
Denise Foster’s charge had made the frame in each of his three previous outings but showed some improvement for the step up in trip to beat Goldwin Magic by five lengths when last seen and he can compete here from the same rating although Jordan Gainford can claim a handy 5lbs.
There could be more to come from him now he’s got his head in front and while he needs to improve on his form to date that could well prove possible although the drop back in trip isn’t sure to suit. Nevertheless he looks one who is steadily going the right way and he can make his presence felt here.
3:25 Downpatrick – Virtual Live Racing Handicap Hurdle (4yo+ 80-95) 2m3f
NATURAL BREEZE has returned from a break in good form, winning at Clonmel in April and bounchign back from a lesser effort at Tramore to finish runner-up in each of his last two starts.
Philip Rothwell’s Shirocco gelding hasn’t been beaten far on either of those occasions, crossing the line just over one length adrift each time and latterly behind Icee M B A at this venue in June where he was run down late bu the winner.
That form looks very fair given those who finished ahead and around him have all run well since and there could be more still to come from him dropping back in distance while he’s reunited with the rider who steered him to that last victory.
He does have a little bit more on at the weights but there’d be little shock in seeing him firmly in the mix again and he can resume winning ways here.
4:55 Killarney – Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden (Div II) (3yo+) 1m
PUNAKHA has shaped with promise on both her starts to date, building on a solid debut fourth at Naas in May when finding only one too good at Gowran Park last month and Bill McCreery’s charge can get off the mark here at the third attempt.
The Acclamation filly was only beaten a head by Frill in that last start, coming off worst in a protracted duel to the line with the winner and the pair were almost three lengths clear of the third.
That form was boosted when the fifth won next time out and she is likely to have more improvement to come so she ought to make her presence felt in this contest stepping up to one mile and every chance she can gain a first victory.
7:25 Killarney – Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies & Mares Handicap (3yo+) 1m3f
THE BLUE BRILLIANT has improved with each start, getting off the mark at the third attempt when going in at Fairyhouse and the Fastnet Rock filly can follow up here.
Jessica Harrington’s charge ran out a ready winner of that latest contest, beating Rosscarbery by two lengths with the rest strung out at various intervals, sluicing through the testing ground with aplomb and the form has been largely upheld with several of those behind all posting good efforts in defeat.
She goes handicapping now from what could be a lenient opening mark and with the yard in decent form at present there’d be no surprise to see her firmly in the mix as she bids to double her win tally despite the quicker ground here.
