Loader’s Daily Double – best bets for Monday at Southwell and Wolverhampton

Chris Loader (@Luckyloaders15) is back with his best bets for Monday’s All-Weather racing Southwell and Wolverhampton.

It was another day of crossbar hitting on Sunday as Bob & Co gave us a winner at Fontwell whilst Monsieur Lecoq couldn’t land a blow in the National Spirit Hurdle. For Monday we turn our attentions to the all-weather with selections coming from Southwell and Wolverhampton. Can we the week off to a winning start?

Monday’s Daily Double

Aunt Helen – 4.10 Southwell

Andrea Atzeni is an interesting jockey booking appearing at Southwell today and is riding our first leg here. Aunt Helen has been running with credit on her recent starts and finished a respectable third on handicap debut at Wolverhampton.
The four-year-old has been a late comer to racing and her mark of 52 is still very workable after five starts. Furthermore on her breeding moving to the fibresand is a plausible move as she is American bred and has plenty of all-weather winners in the pedigree.
This is a weak enough contest to win and it seems she should be able to take a step forward and shed her maiden tag.

Calder Prince – 7.00 Wolverhampton

In the feature event tonight I’m going to take a chance with Calder Prince who’s been holding his form of late for Tom Dascombe.

He was last seen just getting worn down in the closing stages when finishing third at Lingfield which can often be tough for front runners. However in this race today I think those tactics can benefit the seven-year-old and he’s got the perfect draw in stall one.

Even though this is a step up in grade the others don’t appeal much and with his tidy record on the all-weather I think he’s the one they have to beat.
